Issues of sudden edema

Postby easymoney » Fri Jul 21, 2023 10:16 pm

Was wondering if anyone on the board has had any issues of sudden edema. Went for 3 week follow up last Tues on a Rigicon malleable, NP said everything looked great healing well wound about closed. Wed nothing new g/f checks it each evening to make sure there are no issues. Thursday morning get out of bed go to put my underwear on and she says what in the hell happened to your cock? Went to the mirror it is swollen to the point it looks like it is going to split open. Went quickly back to the NP who I saw on Tues, she seemed to not have a whole lot to say. Gave me script for anti inflammatory and antibiotics. Told me to ice it and if something changed ..fever pus etc to go back to the hospital I had my surgery at. She wants me to come back on Tues to see the dr. who did the surgery. I have followed all the instructions ..no lifting ..great wound care etc .. I'm baffled and a little alarmed at this turn of events.

I assume there is no discoloration nor pain? That sounds like edema, but edema appearing suddenly should have a precipitating cause (in my non-medical-professional opinion) which you would remember doing or happening. In short, this may look like edema but may not be.

Remember, I am no sort of medical expert, especially on edema. I had it once from applying too much vacuum in a VED. I also know it can come from lymphatic system problems (but I don't think there are any lymph ducts in a penis). So I am non-plussed with your situation. But since no one else replied in the short time since your post, I thought to offer my meager thoughts.
