So, I’m 12 days post op and I haven’t heard many people talking about pain in the abdomen / reservoir .
I don’t have pain all the time just sometimes like towards the end of the day or after doing a good bit of walking. I will admit I have been pretty steady active in my recovery walking a lot doing chores , but no heavy lifting.
I have a hard time just sitting around been around 8-12k steps a day since day 6.
The pain is not terrible, but I just can feel the reservoir . Any advice on how long the discomfort in reservoir lasts? Is this pretty normal part of recovery ?

Re: Reservoir discomfort
Hey man, so I won’t say I have pain in that area necessarily but I do have soreness in the reservoir area. It feels like a cramp, when I run too much after drinking eating or drinking. It’s not unbearable or lasting all day, it just kinda happens randomly or when I’ve been moving a lot. I imagine all your physical activity early in the healing process is what’s causing it, but I don’t think it’s dangerous or a bad sign. You might want to try and lighten up your physical activity and limit it to only necessary activity (which I know sucks, I caved and I started going to my gym to walk on the treadmill for at least 3 miles starting a few days ago). I also hadn’t heard many people comment on reservoir pain on this forum so the cramping was unexpected for me.

Thanks brother . This is what I wanted to hear. And considering you are a week ahead of me from same Dr. it must be fairly common. I would say it is as you describe it. I think Dr. C had me a little more worried about the reservoir because he told me about a guy messing up his reservoir on week 5 because he lifted heavy at the gym.

Franklin, my reservoir sits on my right side and I had pain on and off for at least 3 or 4 months, but not bad pain. I'm a cyclist so I didn't do as much walking which is what made it hurt and and leaning up against my bathroom vanity to shave. I can still feel it now and then but it doesn't bother me. For me, that took the longest to heal.
I don't have the same implant as you do but I'm sure my reservoir is about the same size as yours, 100ml.
I would just curb your walking a little bit and maybe ice that area.
Hang in there,

Re: Reservoir discomfort
I had various aches, soreness, and twinge of pain for months after the surgery, including in the reservoir area.
Never anything alarming.

Ok, I wasn’t too alarmed. I just haven’t seen much posted about the reservoir area. I think I’ve just been overdoing some and it needs more time to heal. If this is the worst thing so far I think the recovery is going pretty well!

This like other things vary as we and our doctors are different. There are men that never post any issue with this and others that have a second surgery to relocate the device. This was and is the longest part of this for me as I can still feel this and it did give me some discomfort just a few days ago. Just something I learn to live with and a small price to pay to have erections again. That does not mean you will continue to have discomfort. Most likely it will go away like it has with others but from your post it already sounds like it it manageable. And that it is not bad enough for a second surgery. As you posted this is not uncommon and a search of this site will find posts in the range I have indicated. Or the lack of men posting on the problem.
Good luck on a fast recovery.
