Implant/colonoscopy

Postby iwantanewone » Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:40 am

Hey guys;
It’s the dreaded time for another colonoscopy. The don’t normally bother me but this is my first since having an implant. Anybody had one since implantation? Any infection or reservoir issues?

Thanks!

Not much help from me. I had mine 15 years ago. Found nothing. My current dr likes to use the dung sample test. Btw, I think its a Coloplast product.
Good luck, either test is a good idea. Best treatment for cancer is early detection.

Ask your doc for the Cologuard test. That's the at home DIY test. They say it's like 95% accurate. However, if you have family history or had previous signs of colon cancer the best way is the colonoscopy.

A few years ago I did a Cologuard test - the results came back negative. Then 3 years ago I did another Cologuard and the results came back positive. My gastro sent me for a regular colonoscopy, which came back negative. Looks like I'll be doing colonoscopy in the future.
