Boston Scientific expected to release new pump for AMS IPP later this year

Currently, the AMS pump is one single valve that handles both inflation and deflation.
Boston Scientific has apparently completely re-engineered the pump and separated the inflation and deflation valves, so that they're under much more accurate mechanisms for inflation and deflation.

According to my doc, the release is set for either November or December of this year and it's just up to specific hospitals whether or not they want to buy it.

Might be of interest to anyone considering an implant or needing a revision soon.

Thanks for posting this breaking news. Very interesting to me. When I was about to get my implant, I observed to my surgeon that it would be advantageous to have a pump that would give positive inflation to the reservoir (positive deflation to the implant) as well as the usual positive inflation to the implant. He thought it a good idea and suggested that if I could come up with a design it would be of interest to the manufacturers. Alas, I was never able to come up with a design robust, small and reliable (simple) enough to do the job.

Here's hoping the AMS folks succeed where I failed.
