Best bike saddles for the triplets

Postby oldirtybastard » Tue Aug 08, 2023 9:17 am

Hi all, I am looking forward to getting back in the saddle so to speak. I have an ISM seat already and it's just ok. Still afraid that the pump will get caught on something and get ripped out (well not really, but a little bit).

What bike seats have worked best for you? I have a specialist gravel bike which I typically use on the road.
40, implanted May 2023. Coloplast titan. Still figuring things out.

Old Dirty, I use a ISM PL1.1 40, which on their website is considered a no nose saddle but it does have a nose with the opening to not put pressure on your perineum. Which ISM do you have? The 40 has plenty of padding for my sit bones.
When I first got back on my road bike at around the 4th or 5th week after surgery, it was a little painful, tight, tender and numbness. I had the same concerns about the pump rubbing against the boys or getting rubbed or caught.

I ordered a Hobson Noseless saddle and tried it, but it was awful because your sit bones sit on top of the seat instead of hugging it and you keep adjusting trying to stay on top of the seat while pedaling, I ditch it, sent it back to Amazon and put my ISM back on my bike. I haven't had any problems, I put 6,000 miles in the saddle for 2022, longest ride was 110 miles at the Hotter n Hell endurance ride, Wichita Falls, Texas

I do wear Jockey Sports bikini briefs under my cycling bibs to keep the three boys in place, so they aren't moving around.

Just know that you'll experience some stiffness, tenderness and numbness from your scrotum if you get the penoscrotal install for your implant. One of my Frank Talk cycling friends in the Dallas area didn't have as many problems getting back on his bike, he had the infrapubic install.

There are not a lot of cyclist on Frank Talk, but there are a few of us.

Good Luck,

This is the sports brief that I wear under my cycling bibs. I’m not sure you can get them on Amazon, it might be a knock off.

Old Dirty, I go up one size so the sport brief fits comfortably.
I usually wear large in briefs but with the Sports Brief, I go to an extra large because of the way they fit around my waist.
If your waist is good you would probably stay with your normal size.
I’ve got a little bit of a spare tire and I like to be comfortable.

I am an avid cyclist, I do about 12000 km /year between MTB and road bike. I use selle Italia srl superflow on my road bike. On my Enduro MTB I use a specialized power. Anyway I also ride an indoor bike with a fizik R5 with no cutout. I definitely can use any type of saddle now without any problem.
32yo, VL from birth. Implanted in 2020 with AMS CX by Gabriele Antonini. Pump stopped working after three months, replaced with new pump that stopped working again. Complete revision Titan Touch 24+1 implanted by Dr.Eid. Titan failed in October 2023.
