Question on Titan implant revision
If the implant fails due to tubing, does the entire implant (including cylinders) need to be replaced? I ask because I hear that the Titan cylinders are virtually indestructible. I would pray that whenever my next revision happens, that I wouldn’t have to go through the recovery pain of getting new cylinders implanted.

Re: Question on Titan implant revision
I think that all depends on your anatomy, what failed, etc. Mostly a case-by-case basis.
However, some guys report increased size after a revision. I'm guessing they had a total replacement including the cylinders.

Re: Question on Titan implant revision
I don’t have a Titan but during my revisions they wanted to replace everything that way they would be new and not have to worry as much about failure after the revision

Re: Question on Titan implant revision
I'm guessing but I think the whole implant would be replaced for 2 reasons . 1) All coloplast titan sizes 22cm and less come from the factory as one piece . 24cm and up come in 3 pieces ( reservoir, pump and cylinders ) and have to be coupled together by the surgeon. 2) I don't believe you , the surgeon , the insurance company OR Colplast would want to take the risk , pay , or warranty new components with old components. This is just my opinion . I know if I was getting opened up , I'd want the new model with no wear and tear installed.

Re: Question on Titan implant revision
I had a titan revision because the first Drs. Really screwed me up. The revision replaced cylinders with longer ones and tubing but left the reservoir from the original. It was only a year old at most. The revision surgery was a piece of cake. Quicker recovery, virtually no pain at all and it’s straighter, thicker and something to be proud of now.
