I was in a similar situation and I got implanted last year. No regrets. In fact, I'm wishing I had done it at least ten years earlier.

I'm sixty now, but I've been using Viagra/Cialis since my late thirties. (Viagra earlier on and then switching to Cialis because it lasts longer.) At first pills worked, but over time they became less reliable, even at maximum dose, and I got lots of nasal stuffiness as a side effect. I never did try vacuum pumps or shots. I wanted to be able to have spontaneous sex without extra gear, shots, or stuff to refrigerate.
