i think the no feelings isnt because of the implant ,its due to diabetes.
it sounds like the tension in the hinge is worn out . i dont know how you could break the rods as they are solid silicone rods not filled with any fluid . malleables are chosen due to their reliability ,lack of mechanical parts that fail. the one possibility is the hinge can wear out . so it wouldn't stand erect but it would still be hard .
if you where to get your diabetes under control then you could have surgeries.
my mother in law with diabetes was put on a keto diet by her registered nurse daughter. that brought her diabetes under control . i think [not positive] she was able to get off insulin shots .
what brand was your malleable ?

There is always a solution. Don't give up. The key issue here is getting insurance coverage that you can use to get a revision. You can get a malleable again or an inflatable implant. Self-pay through a loan is an option if you can't get the required coverage, and you are able to qualify for.
Technology today is way better than what it used to be in the 80's. Even if you didn't get the feeling as before, it is still good that you have a working penis and can have intercourse. The feeling back little by little.

Dear Sir.

I am so sorry to learn about your pain. You got your implant in 1989. I was born in the same year. You've dealt with a malleable implant for as long as i have lived. I have a malleable implant from Rigicon and it has been 10 months since i got it done.

Like you said, You're surgeon was inexperienced. I bet, you will be able to find a solution if you meet a HIgh Volume Implant surgeon, who should be able to handle complicated cases. A consultation wouldn't do any harm, right. Please don't lose heart.

Have you considered removing the implants to be pain free at least?

It’s the neuropathy from diabetes that’s causing the pain. I was too young to have this problem all from damage that diabetes caused me.

Removing the implant isn't an option for anyone. The void created for the implant won't be filled and it will cause problems peeing.

Bud, you need to visit one of the implant specialists for this - Dr Hakky, Clavell, or Eid (several more if you prefer to be closer). Hopeful you'll get the help you need.
33 y/o, suffering from ED as long as I can remember. Never had random boners. Pills worked for a few years, but now losing efficacy. Venous leak confirmed by Dr. Garber. Likely going the implant route at some point.

I used papaverine injection in 1989. Didn’t work. I was diabetic since age 15. Became impotent at 22 yrs old. My case is horrible. I’m only 57 now. Totally finished.
