I guess I'm a lucky one in that the only real issue I had after surgery was the swelling in my scrotum. Pain after surgery was really a non issue. Right now even though I'm 3 months out, is after about 15 minutes or so fully inflated I get the pain and burn from the stretch. I'm only cycling twice a day but I'll probably try to move to 3 times a day and hoping to get to 30 minutes at a time at the least. Just takes baby steps at first and listen to your Dr and your body, they'll let you know.

Many thanks, John. I'm doing my best to listen to my Dr and body too.

Hi str84wd,

Have you been cleared to take hot baths yet? I would check with your surgeon and see if it’s OK to hot bath… my surgeon had me at six weeks taking a 30 minute hot bath daily while cycling. Actually, I was inflated for six weeks and to take a hot bath after the six weeks for 30 days of cycling… This softens the cylinders. … Unfortunately, the glans seem to be the part that takes the longest to heal but it gets better each week, but that’s where it’s very sensitive… Hot bath, and hang in there, so to speak and cycle in the bath if you are cleared… Feels really good in hot water….Good luck!

As someone who recently got implanted and on the 5th week, I know specially after reading through the great posts of the bionic men here that we all heal differently due to various reasons, ED cause, medical conditions, age etc..

However I'm trying to assess if my situation is normal by hearing various answers and will continue to talk to Dr.

I'm wondering how long did it take for those who were implanted to go pain free at the glans and its sensitivity?

In my case my glans is very sensitive and it's my biggest pain point and discomfort and wondering when will go back to normal? Does being deflated help? Still Inflated since post op and unable to fully Deflate since I'm still learning and postponed cycling from week 4 which was painful and will wait till I complete week 6.

Also soreness at large in the penis is something that makes me wonder when will be pain free.

Note: I had fibrosis at the glans and I'm a little bet oversized.

Str84wd, all of us heal differently, when I started cycling at 6 weeks, I had a lot of pain in my glans after 20 minutes of max inflation. My wife and I had sex at 8 week and even though it was great to have sex again, it was not great, I had numbness on my shaft and glans and I don't think I got it to the max that I could get at that time, it was a little floppy and I didn't have good nerve senses from my dick that I was penetrating her. It all gets better the more you cycle and by the 4th and 6th month, sex started to get great again. Just keep cycling and your dick will get better soon.

Good Luck,

Many thanks for replying, yes I was cleared to take baths since week 4 (I'm on week 6 now) but my Dr did not recommend hot baths in fact he told me to stay away as it will increase the pain. I'm also inflated till now and my Dr deflated me twice but not fully to ease up the pain and told me to try which till date finding it difficult to fully deflate and still learning! My pain is getting better at the start of week 6 and will go back to Dr in 4 days for a session.

Appreciate sharing your experience!
Looks like I will feel comfortable to cycle at week 6 as I'm feeling better now and glad to set expectations that there will be pain at the beginning. Thanks to your message and all other men who are taking time to share experiences here!
