Because of 2 infections and 2 operations I was forbidden to cycle at last at like 14 weeks I got the go ahead, At 3 + years now I still cycle nearly daily, I enjoy the stretch feeling and have had late gains maybe because I was put off so long from the beginning?
Its all worked out. Good luck

I'm curious to hear how far can I delay cycling till I heal completely.

Anybody waited more than 6 weeks?

I know that there are ppl who were blessed to heal from week 2 and cycle + having sex.

In my case I'm approaching week 6 and my penis is still sore specially the glans that is super sensitive on top of healing from serom that is my better now.

There is a publication in the Documents Worth Reading thread in the General Discussion section of this site Titled Coffin Effect. This show a relation to loss of size with longer waits to activate or start cycling. Mostly used when looking for a doctor for this surgery to find one with early activation that is available to you. That being said all my local doctors that were in my insurance network at the time of my surgery had men wait 8 weeks before activation. And I think there were men who went longer than that. All my local doctors and the man who I talked to that was implanted by one of them said to expect 1-2 inches in size loss. So you can wait as long as you want but while you are doing so a capsule is forming that will restrict size. It will take a very long time to if ever to stretch that capsule. The pump may stick a bit also as they are self lubricating and with out use have had some trouble. Heat helps with that though.

Cycling is a process that starts out with just an inflation and then an immediate deflation. First just once a day. Then twice a day. Then after a few days you start to leave it inflated for about 5 minutes and then increase the time after a few more days. Wait as long as you want but if you can try to cycle a little. Ask your doctor for help on this. Your doctor knows more about your operation than we do.

Many thanks for the input.

It's comforting to read about the Activation after 8 weeks being normal. I just felt pressured not being ready after week 4! The Dr made it worse by telling me he have other patients who activated and had sex in 2 weeks! While I'm not close to stroking my penis or even touch it!

the doctors always put their hands first, they never admit that they have made an error of assessment in the measurement of the prosthesis, it happened in my case too, I'm 8 months old and it's still not very comfortable as I hear people say here, it gets better and better, but very slowly, start taking cialis, you will need it

seems like it is very important to cycle - i was unable to cycle the implant with first surgery to the max due to a malfunction and as a result loss some length with my second surgery. My surgeon made me aware that it would be uncomfortable for up to 2-3 months after especially given how much size i lost as i started to aggressively cycle. Also was told to use vacuum device externally, which I think has helped as well.

Early on hot shower to cycle made it easier. Once incision was healed (mine was around 18 days), doc said it was okay to use warm bath to make pumping easier. Huge difference - wish I knew this the first time.
Radical Prostatectomy in 2015; failed pills, straight to Coloplast Titan in 2019 by Dr. Valenzuela in NYC, Replaced with AMS 700 CX in 2022 by Dr. Darshan Patel in San Diego, CA. Wish I jumped to an implant even before prostate cancer!

You'll be fine waiting until the soreness goes away.

My Dr is recommending that I start asap after week 4 but when he saw my pain, he said ok wait till week 6 and will see!

Exactly what happened to me. Went in at four weeks, doc started pumping me up, I turned white as a ghost due to pain/nerves and he said to give it a few more weeks. I think I realized then that it was going to be a process, and pain/discomfort would be on the menu for a while.

Probably just days later I went for it. I checked the forums, heard about the hot bath cycling technique, and that's how I started my cycling journey. It was not comfortable at first but quickly became tolerable.

I do not feel I lost any size from the procedure - even with a late cycling start (in fact, I feel I made gains after the one-year mark). Just last week I was lying in bed with my wife, getting the last few pumps in, and she says, "you know that thing is intimidating." Which sort of surprised me. I felt that the two years I was out of commission from ED and then cancer I might have lost a half inch or so. Not according to my wife and that's the only opinion that counts for me.

You're fine! But get started soon and be sure in incorporate the Pierto technique once you feel like you can push things a bit. That exercise really brought on the gains (thanks FT!). Good luck my bionic brother!

Many thanks for responding and for your wishes- I guess we are alike and I'm waiting for week 6 to start with cycling.
