Look at the modes of failure. Inflatables have a lot more moving parts. Tubing and connectors can leak, reservoir can develop a leak (rare), pump can develop a leak (external), valve sticking or leak (internal), implant tubes themselves can develop a leak, and these are just the mechanical failure modes. There is more surface area for possible erosion to a man's skin (tubing, valve body and implant tips). Malleable only has erosion risk at the tips.

There are probably more differences that I have not thought of.

So, why inflatable instead of malleable? And why do some men choose malleable when they could have either?

From what I have read, "bend it out of the way" is kind of optimistic. But a lot better than "out of the way" permanently limp!!!

Not going to be a popular opinion. But from my perspective. The longer a malleable lasts just means the longer that you have an implant that doesn't minic your natural penis. If you're ok with that then a malleable is for you.
My father in law had a semi ridgid implant about 30 years ago. It was his best option due to dexterity issues. Yes, it lasted until he died so it fulfilled its purpose. I'm fairly sure that they have been improved since then.
I wanted to get an inflatable. Say what you want about cost, lifespan or whatever. It works closely like my youthful penis. I can afford a revision or two.

I had not one but 2 AMS 700 pumps fail on me. Each within 18 months. Fed up. Does anyone (not from Boston Scientific) publish pump failures on this faulty implant? Thinking on getting a malleable if it's more reliable. Now retired, I have to self pay and malleable are half the price. If people don't like my "profile" they can go fuk themselves!

If you want get malleable implant it is much better to get it done in middle east it cost like 3500usd there. I have ream mambo story he had malleable implant about 2years ago and he is 100percent satisfied
