revsion surgery NYC - hotels to stay or airbnb

Good morning,

Getting a new implant early December Dr Eid, and places close to the Manhattan Eye, Ear Throat Infirmary? Last time I stayed at the Bentley Hotel it is closed & so is the hotel across from the Infirmary.

Hi peyroniesjr - I am also scheduled for IPP surgery with Dr. Eid in early December and I booked a room in the hotel across the street from MEETH (Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital) where Dr. Eid performs surgeries on Fridays. The hotel is called The Gardens Sonesta ES Suites New York.

I read recently that NYC has cracked down on short-stay Airbnb rentals. Be careful with this. If true a hotel may be your only good option. I know. NYC hotels are not easy on the wallet.

Short term Air BnB's in NYC have gotten tricky because the host has to register with the city. This means Coop boards can fine the owner and kick them out, city gets missed tax money and more. I stayed at the hotel across the street the first time (had to reschedule due to getting sick in the night), overpriced and no room service. I went to the Westin on 42nd street a few blocks south, great food (room service) and the ice machine was nearby. I took a taxi to the hospital in the morning (Doorman got the taxi) and took an Uber XL for the ride back to the hotel. I figured the extra room in the XL truck made for easier maneuvering post-surgery. I stayed over the weekend after the Friday surgery. If you stay in a hotel stay on the same side of town as the hospital (east side) so you don't get caught in cross town traffic.

I also have to do that for my revision. Last time I stayed in affinia gardens.

I noticed that you have your date in early December. I hoped to be able to get in within November but at this point I think it would be difficult.. my implant is not working at all for a tube leak and I'm in very bad state..

I'm still waiting to be recontacted by Dr.Eid staff, they told me that they have to setup a video consultation with him before scheduling a new surgery and that I will be recontacted via email. But unfortunately still nothing after 5 days.
