Dr. Clavell completes 1000 implant surgeries

Just saw the twitter update from Dr. Jonathan Clavell that he has now done 1000 implant surgeries. I think that makes him of the top implant surgeons in USA with a great volume.

Wishing everyone who has had surgery with him the best and those who are scheduled the best of luck.

I have consulted with him while searching for a surgeon post Dr. Eid’s illness. I quite liked him but finally chose to go with Dr. Billy Cordon who was recommended by Dr. Eid. Again a top choice surgeon!

In my opinion the numbers don't line up correctly. The general advice is to look for a dr that does a lot of implants per year. I do know that we've debated what defines a high volume dr. Lots of comments for 200-250 a year. The suggested level tapers down from there. 1,000 only works out to 4 to 5 years worth at those numbers.
If anyone wants to kill an afternoon surfing the web. It might be nice to figure out about when he started doing implants.
So guys, who of the present patients has the oldest install date??

Player98 in November of 2019 is the oldest that I could quickly find. So he's just short of 4 years. If this date is true or very close to true. He has a been very busy dr.
I will leave that there is a large unknown in this. Its said he trained with dr Wang. He could easily have some surgeries with dr Wang included that predate what I found.

Uh, crap. Senior moment. The date might of been in 2018. I'll try to recheck later.

For anybody considering Dr. Clavell, this podcast interview should be a must-listen. If you have any doubts the man doesn’t know what he’s talking about, this podcast should dispel your concerns.

Also, addressing the comment above questioning his numbers, this podcast is dated June 2021. In the interview he discussed how his implant practice had already exploded to the point he was in surgery more days than in the past. The 1000 implant number is totally believable. As i recall, when i consulted with Dr Perito i observed a certificate on the wall indicating 3000 implants.

In this interview he also discusses common area of concern on this forum, namely why he prefers penoscrotal vs infrapubic, and his aversion to rear tip extenders.

Also I am sure a majority of those 1000 implants would have been done in the last 1-2 years. i am sure the next 1000 will happen relatively quickly!

Very happy to be a Clavellian. With as much apprehension as I had going into this whole implant process, doing as much research as I possibly could and ultimately choosing Dr. Clavell resulted in a nearly pain-free installation and a result beyond my expectations.

Now it's all on AMS to hold up their end of the bargain. So far, so good.

I too am a Clavell patient. 2 years in this October and I could not be happier. The man is great and from my experience honest and caring. Highly recommend
