Feels like sitting on a rock
Feels like sitting on a rock
Hi all and new to board. Just shy of two weeks post op with Dr. Clavell, Chose Coloplast Titan and classic pump. Proceedure went well and very little pain except where the pump is. It's behind the base of the scrotum and not actually in the scrotum. Now that things are settling down I am hoping it comes down into a better postion where I don't put pressure on it when I sit. I have tried pulling it down and maybe it moves a tiny bit but otherwise it seems to be tethered in place. Not sure what to do and just toughing it out. Spoke with Dr. and he said it will come down and to keep massaging it. But it's sore enough for me to take pain meds which I never needed post op. Just confused and a little discouraged. The thought crossed my mind that after all the angst, expense and pain I may have an unuseable device as it's really tough to palpate it definitively. If it stays in it's current position I will need a revision or go crazy.I can feel the entire pump but not the valve. Anyone had this problem? Thank you

you are still new to your implant. it takes time for thing to settle in.
My pump is on the right side, and my uro told me to pull down on it everyday.
It takes time but you'll get there.
I would talk with your Dr. if you are having problems.

Started with Viagra at age 40. Worked good for about 12 years.
Tried Trimix injections, worked great for about 8 years
Now Trimix no longer works.
I got implant on Oct 26th 2022.

Re: Feels like sitting on a rock
I'm okay much the same 15 days past op.
I have a tight scrotum (I thought at 66 it should be hanging halfway to my knees by now!). I massage and pull but it's very close to the incision and I don't want to impede healing. I can't feel the release button at this point which I find a bit alarming.
I'm sure it will all work out, but yet...

Have you been cleared to deflate and pump up?

Give it a few weeks until you're ready to deflate/inflate.
Each week it gets better.

Like most said, give it more time. I gently moved my pump around starting day 1 post op. I read this blog back to pre covid years and the pump sticking to … well, anywhere really was the most common complaint in my observation. But my pump moved very little, it was tight, almost stuck feeling day 1. Over the next few months it started moving around more freely. I think it was taint swelling, but im just guessing. You will be fine, keep gently moving it around a couple times a day.

Re: Feels like sitting on a rock
2 weeks man, it's only been 2 weeks. There will be a LOT of changes still to come. Don't get discouraged. I'm 8 months post-op with Dr. Clavell and my bigger AMS pump is in the perfect location, center line in my scrotum just behind my balls and rotated so my right hand and thumb finds the valve button in it's natural position.
It wasn't always this way. Lots of things still to change. Don't mess around with it, you're only 2 weeks out, the biggest concern you should have is infection and keeping your filthy hands off your junk is job #1.
If Dr. Clavell says it'll come down, then it will come down. He's seen literally 1000 of these surgeries, you've seen just 1..... and that was only 2 weeks ago.

Re: Feels like sitting on a rock
Totally agree with the above. You’re WAY too early to fret about this. I know. The waiting and taking it day by day now, as you surely are, is tough. At this point your activation date of 6 weeks approximately seems an insufferably long way. But, relax. You’re fine.
I sat on a donut cushion for almost a month because the pressure on my scrotum (and pump, by default) was most uncomfortable. Mine improved to the point i’m almost completely unaware of it 24/7. Painless.
I didn’t even TOUCH my scrotum or pump for an entire month. When i did, it was just a gentle touch with a finger to get a feel for it. Like Jage64 above said, my pump is perfectly positioned, at an angle that is perfectly placed for the angle of my hand when pumping. Dr. C understands the ergonomics of it all. You’ll see.
I might suggest taking walks, yes, with your chub pulled up in a jockstrap….as soon as you can. I gingerly and slowly began walking 1 mile at 3-4 weeks, and was up to 3 miles daily at week 6. I think all this walking kept things moving down below and i experienced no tethering such as you mentioned.
You’re fine brother.

Active, athletic 63 years old. Sexually, still 33 in my mind and spirit. Pills and injections all worked, until they didn’t. Diagnosed with veinous leakage in 2022. Coloplast Titan. 22 CM. No RTE. Peno-scrotal. Implanted 1/4/23. Dr. Clavell.
Re: Feels like sitting on a rock
Thank you all for great advice. The most important thing I am learning is to stay strong and be patient. I sit a lot for my work and today I'm going on Amazon for a donut cushion. Just gotta hang in there ...

I have to agree with Thailand on the walking. I think I borderline over did it with walking and exercise. I found walking really helps everything.
You’re in a tough stage because you can’t do much and your dick is shorter , and things look/ feel different. Hang in there, you’ll be really happy by month 3.
