After decades of pills, and 1 decade of Trimix. It's time. I turn 65 next year in May, and the company I work for is switching to Blue Cross.

So.. gentlemen.. is Blue Cross a go / no-go? and if so, then Medicare. But what plan for Medicare.... I am getting mailers now to enroll, but seems there are many choices. One that did interest me was 'Clever-Care'. Any opinions on that one??

I probably have to pay a co-pay... so maybe a plan to minimize that....

I sent an email to Dr. EID website, so hopefully they can also assist.

I am in So California, so hoping that is ok. Can fly to NY for the procedure, and get post-op care locally in Riverside County.

Any advice is appreciated !!

S.Cal here too.

Blue Cross covered me almost completely.

if with blue cross make sure dr eid's office gets all the authorizations first. with medicare part a alone it would be like $1600 bucks but if you have other supplemental plans then its $0 out of pocket.

doesn't hurt to get the ball rolling - many of high volume implanters have a 3-6 months wait list.

Yes... BC and Medicare that is the plan.
Medigap also if BC doesn't cover.

Dr. EID has about a 2 month wait, but I am planning for June. So I have time.

January I will find out what Blue Cross covers, and then I turn 65 in May so will be on Medicare.

But I will apply probably in March for Medicare, since I can apply early.

Pretty good plan. If you read my history. I've posted recently about my costs that I had to pay out of pocket. Not zero cost but very reasonable.
My only small piece of advice. I'm not sure that medicare starts the day of your birth or at the first day of the following month. Some research might be in order on that.

Well, if it starts on June 1st then I am still covered.

But the staff at Dr. EID will figure all that out for me :)
