Update on 11/19 implant

Day three... I am still managing my pain OK. Last night was the first night home in my own bed and I woke up every two hours or so to urinate. My doctor does not inflate post surgery, but my penis feels full. That is quite alright with me since I haven't had that particular feeling in quite a long time. I am supposed to wear a jock strap so Im following orders, but that damn thing is as uncomfortable today as it was when I was 17. I am looking forward to a shower tomorrow, but the hospital gave me a waterless bath solution so I don't feel like a homeless guy with a swollen nut sack and bad hair .

I was asked to post a little bit about myself, so here is a brief snippet. I am 38, from the east coast, and have been suffering with moderate ED since my 20's. It increasingly got worse in my 30's. Pills lost their effectiveness. I tried counseling, which helped me deal with my issue, but it did not improve my ED. (I still go by the way and I recommend it). I am a police officer and have been so since the late 90's. I'm not sure if my profession facilitated my ED or not, but I am certain it did not help. Stress, a 20 lb. gun belt, 12 hour shifts sitting in a patrol car etc. You do the math. I am married to a wonderful woman who supports me. We have two children younger than 13, so working through this has been even more stressful as I don't want my recovery to affect my ability to be a great dad. Hey, three days in and its going well.

One of the biggest struggles I have had is keeping this private, especially with my kids and a close network of friends and colleagues. I did an extensive amount of research and ended up going out of state for surgery. Not to far though, about an hour. I ended up in Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. Their Urology Dept. is ranked #1 in the Country year after year. My doctor was Arthur Burnett. This guy is the real deal. Dr. Burnett has an impressive set of credentials and was instrumental in research leading to the development of Viagra. As far as keeping it private, I told people that I was having surgery to improve circulation in my legs. You know, years of police work reaching havoc on my lower body... Seems realistic enough I guess and my mom has been kind enough not to probe too much.

I took a paid leave from work to recover, and from the other experiences I have read on this site, it seems like the right thing to do. I can truly say that Franktalk.org has been very helpful. The stories, pics, etc. were comforting. Both good and bad by the way. Anyone having this done needs to be realistic.

Anyway, enough about me, I will post two or three pics later this morning.

All sounds typical.
As far as keeping it private, be sure to get some long fleece sweaters that will cover that area. Eventually it becomes a habit, but early on I realized it's important to cover up to avoid stares. Now that I'm over the 6 month mark, I dangle down a lot better.
Good job getting it taken care of so young. Your wife will know she married a champion.

Getting the implant completely cured my ed I am very greatful I have had the surgery. I will tell you that once you are all healed up you will have a totally functional penis again, welcome aboard brother. Nathan

Good morning everyone. I don't plan on posting every day, but since I am sitting here in front of the TV, I figured I would give an update. First off, thanks to all of the fine gentlemen who took the time to say hello, offer words of encouragement and advice. It is appreciated.

Last night was another crummy nights sleep, and it was not the pain that kept me up. I am waking up every two hours to pee, so I can not wait for that to stop. The jock strap is off and I experienced immediate relief. I will say that If I have to leave the house, it is coming back on as it is very supportive with the swelling. So as long as I am sitting I'm comfortable in my regular underwear. I saw some other postings in weeks past with ?'s regarding underwear. Drumroll please... I am using Adidas sport underwear that are boxer briefs. They are plenty supportive and the stitches don't grab the fabric like regular cotton does because they are lycra and spandex.

Pain in still manageable and I think that I can already reduce the Oxycodone to mornings and evenings.

Swelling has reduced some and again, I have very little discoloration or bruising.

On a VERY POSITIVE NOTE, my wife was changing in front of me this morning, and to be quite honest, she is a solid 10. So, naturally I was a little excited. My glans started to engorge a bit!!!!!! Seriously, what a nice surprise. Don't worry, that is the extent of my experience Going to continue to rest for several weeks. Its been months / year since sex, so I can certainly wait a bit longer.

I switched from the prescription pain meds to Ibuprophen 5 days post-op. Ibuprophen controls pain and also has an anti-inflammatory effect. Reducing the inflammation will help your peeing situation. Time alone may take care of peeing problem though. If you haven't had surgery to reduce your prostate, the implant surgery might have caused the prostate to swell up some causing a BPH kind of situation that will go away as things heal up. A lot of guys have problems with constipation on the prescription pain meds too.

Thanks Dave. Constipation hasn't been a problem thank god. I woke up last night at 2:30 and 6:30 to pee which is ok with me. Considering the fact I was up 3-4 times previously. I am down to 5 mg Oxy three times a day, but plan on only two today. Swelling is down quite a bit. Still uncomfortable but am no where the "what the hell did I do to my self" point. Getting antsy, but found out quickly what my body will and won't allow me to do. I was able to sleep on my side last night which is what I prefer. For the most part, the is nothing to report other than I'm resting, it's been nice to see no more turtle head and reduced swelling.

I am having surgery the 5th of December, a Duke Hospital doctor here in the Raleigh NC area will be doing the surgery, he does 125-150 a year. I really appreciate all the help from you guys here and plan on adding my two cent with pictures once I have surgery. I am having the colopast titian put in has anyone had any experience with this I am wondering how much if any length was lost? I had a plication about 10 years ago to correct some peyronnie disease and lost about an inch I don't want to lose anymore.
