Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
Wheels up in 10! Appreciate the encouragement and advice....stocked up on ice packs and reading material. Best wishes to my fellow Nov. 1 implantees and Go Bucks!
54 y.o. ED started 6-7 years ago with decreased response to meds. Trimix worked but pain, priapism, and need to plan everything made it a terrible solution. Implanted on 11/1/23 by Dr. Frederick Taylor, Columbus, OH. 26cm Titan XL (classic), infrapubic.
Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
Good luck who is doing your implant and where?
Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
Earlier post stated Dr. Taylor in Columbus Ohio was doing his surgery. Same surgeon I had. Good luck today and dont freak out about size afterwards.....4 weeks post op I was close to normal pre op size. Remember to cycle sooner rather than later. One thing he never stated to me was when it was ok to start cycling. My post op follow up was 5 weeks after surgery but I started cycling after 2 1/2 weeks. During my follow up he stated that was no issue an encouraged cycling as soon as I eas comfortable enough.

Doc131u wrote:Just got the call today.....insurance has approved and I am scheduled to receive my implant on Nov. 1. My surgeon (Dr. Frederick Taylor, Columbus, Ohio) is one of the recommended Coloplast practitioners and he has been a fantastic doc through my struggles with ED. Many years of pills with limited success finally went to Trimix about 6 years ago. The shots work (sometimes too well) the majority of the time, but it kills any spontaneity and is almost always painful after the fact. I'm nervous but feel fortunate that my issues thus far have been minuscule compared to what many men on this board have dealt with. Some of you guys are heroes in my book having overcome so much!
My goal is to keep my progress updated and be available to answer any questions for others walking the same path.
Dr. Taylor specializes in the Coloplast Titan but has said he is comfortable with the AMS products as well. Based on the fact that his preference is the Titan and the opinions of many here on FT, I'm going with the Titan.
Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to try to get some good "before" measurements and pics so that I have a good baseline for comparison. I've read all the threads about sizing and I'm trusting him to make the best choice for me size-wise. I'm starting with roughly 7.5" length and 5.75" circumference mid-shaft. I've always had a large glans and hope that remains after the procedure. Obviously would not mind picking up a little girth if my anatomy allows it, but I would be totally thrilled to keep exactly what I have.
Any thoughts, advice, or encouragement will be greatly appreciated. I'll share all I can to help the rest of the brotherhood out.
Yeah, my Doctor actually favored the AMS system to the Coloplast.
To each their own I guess.

In recovery and doing well. Pain is very tolerable and just feels like I need to pee but haven’t had a real urge yet. Implanted a 26 cm Titan with no RTE’s and no scar tissue to speak of. He expects a fantastic cosmetic and functional result! Super excited and very thankful!

Good to hear all went well. One thing I found helpful, and again just me as I am a wierdo lol....If you have a standup shower or bathtub it is much easier to urinate in because you will not be able to aim that sucker for a week or two.

Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
8 hours post-op update; Pain is more soreness than anything, occasional sharper pain near the base of the shaft when I try to shift weight and that too isn’t unbearable. Was able to piss although I completely soaked my wrap and it needed to be changed so I got a brief glimpse. (Wife snapped a couple of pics for me when the nurse stepped out, I’ll post them later). Not worried about size and appearance now. I was thrilled when I heard my measurements and I know Doc went with the largest appropriate cylinder. I was given 2 Percocets right before I left recovery, but have turned them down the last 2 times they were offered. I’ll probably accept them tonight to hopefully help with sleep, but right now the Tylenol is taking enough of the edge off. So far, smooth sailing and mentally I’m increasingly happier knowing my sex life is about to change dramatically and those hellish shots are forever a thing of the past!

Doc .. Congrats on your new toy! … Eight weeks post-op today (Cleveland Clinic) and one of the best investments that I have ever made .. Follow your surgeons advice regarding recovery as things get better every day
