Just an opinion based upon not much. I think you could say it was a perfect storm. The post war baby boom experienced a better & more varied sex life. The invention of birth control pills really helped the sexual revolution. As age, life style choices and/or genetics started affecting more & more men. Remember there was a huge bulge of men moving through our society. This new group was willing to complain about their sexual health. Earlier detection of prostate cancer became the norm. Thus more surgery induced ED. Most of the common male ailments were treated with new drugs that could cause ED. The earlier generation of the males in my family didn't get treatment for HBP, diabetes, cholesterol & plus the medical community has lowered the threshold for a diagnosis of these ailments several times.
Viagra was discovered because they were looking for it as a HBP medicine. The unexpected erection assistance surprised them all. In fact, Viagra under a different name, is still the leading choice for treating pulmonary hypertension. Its actually the only drug that will work on the arteries between the heart & lungs.
As the boomers aged, hair loss treatments were developed, same for acne. Look where that lead us.
As ED treatments became mainstream, costs came down as the patents expired. Thus they became affordable to younger men. The same is happening to implants. I think the term "market penetration" is used. Good name.
I'm less likely to blame porn but I can be wrong. I lived through the golden age of porn. Our largest city had several porn theaters playing porn movies non stop. They only charged you to enter, they didn't care how long you stayed. Everyone had a VCR & a few porn tapes, they might of even been copies that we made at home from a borrowed movie.
Not bashing on our youthfull members. But if you look at something. You really need to look back more than your lifetime to see how things happen.
Case in point. My daughter, age 47, asked why we didn't use condoms to prevent her older brothers conception. I explained that it was simple. In my day you had to go to a druggist & ask for prophylactics. They didn't like the common name then of rubbers. Heaven forbid after that level of embarrassment that you'd ask if they came in larger sizes. Her life experience was that they were at the check out line in almost every store.
As the convo continued. I told her that we learned the hard way after our marriage that condems were prone to breaking. She was shocked, in her dating life she never had one break. I told her that if you're not breaking 1 or 2 a month. You're not banging right. I like to make her cringe......one of the few pleasures an old man gets from his kids.

Late edit. I see a member speculated that young members suffer in silence. There is no silence that compares to not being able to complain because NO drugs or treatments are even available. From some perspectives. The younger members are in a better spot than their male preceding family members cause the old one had no treatments.

Poor health?

My son got married last month. I went to the room where he, his best man, and his three groomsmen were getting dressed. These guys are all just shy or just over 30,and I had the lowest BMI in the room.

I think an interesting question will be whether or not the implant companies continue to have lifetime warranties. When I got my implant three years ago, my doctor said I was quite a bit younger than his usual patient. He said the reason why the companies have the lifetime warranties is because most men don't outlive their implants.

If the companies have to start paying for more replacements because the younger men are lasting longer than the implants, I wonder if they'll continue with the warranties.

I agree with others who mentioned diet and a sedentary lifestyle. Also, I think the younger generation is more apt and adept and communicating whereas older generations might tend to suffer in silence out of embarrassment or unwillingness to show "weakness." I also agree that the pharma available now, the chemical compounds etc., are much more prevalent in the lives of young people today. A kid with ADD/ADHD in my generation was just a 'difficult' kid - today that kid gets put on Adderal and god knows what else.

I personally don't feel porn has anything to do with it - but just my two cents.

I think they already have gone away from lifetime warranties.

I can't even find the AMS warranty info. I'm sure if it was lifetime they'd have that plastered all over. AMS may be even shorter than Coloplast in terms of warranty length.

I don't have the slightest interest in young girls even though I clearly married one cause I was young also. I've said in the past that we've not hid many details of our youth from our kids. At that point I felt it was time to teach my daughter that condoms do break. Just part of the birds & bees continuing education.
Yes, old Joe has mannerisms of a guy that I knew once upon a time that is still getting his room & board paid for by my state. Sadly, he failed at probation at least once if not twice. Not the kind of person I want to know nor keep track of other than to know he only sees daylight thru a small window.

You make me smile. That was the advantage of having the first seat in a row of desks. You got the first big breath of that wonderful stuff.
Off topic, my first experience of a fellow student that had a glue sniffing problem. He sniffed some rubber cement, went glassy eyed & poured some in his mouth. Strangely, while I liked the smell it didn't cause any intoxicating effects. Btw, maybe 14 when this happened. Not in my inner circle of friends. No more contact with him. Died a few years after graduation. Some kind of drug overdose was suggested. Later on the saying in my group was "adding chlorine to the pool" was popular. Not polite but implied removing genes from the gene pool.
Yes, some kids solved their own issues. I never thought I was in a rough town. Another same grade kid killed his liver some how. Was in the paper apologizing for his misdeeds while asking for a transplant. AFAIK, he got a liver. Didn't make it after a while. Small town, small high school. About 70 classmates are gone now that we know about. Take care of your selves guys.
