Congrats Doc131u!
Did you stay in the hospital for a couple days? I think a lot of guys do it as an out-patient.
Heal up quickly. Enjoy what life with the implant offers!

He's been great! I have been seeing him for a few years for the ED and had no idea he was as high volume as he is. The staff at the hospital all talked about how awesome he is to work with.
Yeah, he is awesome. Being local from Marion Ohio I didnt want to travel far and found out about him just by going to Central Ohio Urology for my ED to begin with. Met with a Dr in Westerville and after ultrasound reults, was referred to him. Made a great choice! only difference I see in your pic and mine was you had the drain since you stayed overnight. I askked to be released the same day, but kind of regretted my decision because I had alot of fluid buildup for over a week. Did you go to Mt. Caramel for the surgery?

Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
72 hours in; Seem to have a little more soreness today. The biggest issue is the 30-40% pump that reminds me of the feeling of a trimix shot that lasted too long (but not nearly as bad). My surgeon recommends gently pulling on the pump as soon as you can feel it but this causes a little testicular pain and anxiety. Very nervous about accidentally grabbing or squeezing the wrong tube and feeling like I've been kicked in the nuts. I'm still managing well and other than those mild complaints, I think its going well for still being so early. All reports I've read indicate a great improvement from the initial days to a couple of weeks later. I'm looking forward to my incision healing enough for me to try the hot tub and see if that helps with pulling the pump and the steady ache.
54 y.o. ED started 6-7 years ago with decreased response to meds. Trimix worked but pain, priapism, and need to plan everything made it a terrible solution. Implanted on 11/1/23 by Dr. Frederick Taylor, Columbus, OH. 26cm Titan XL (classic), infrapubic.
Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
It's those first few days that are the worst most say. It was for me.
Definitely use the hot tub once you're cleared to bathe. The hot water is great to ease soreness. Once you're warmed up it's a good place to practice inflating and deflating.

Hi
I'm planning to get a malleable penile prosthesis implant.
Can anyone give me analysis on the results who have had it done.
Also anyone willing to have a phone conversation.

Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
Made it through the first week. Finished the antibiotics with no sign of infection. Have spent most of the last 7 days in a reclined position icing religiously. Some mild pain at the incision that feels more like stretching and pulling when I move the wrong way. Right side of the glans is still numb but have feeling back on the left side. The worst thing currently is the on the left side of the scrotum, feels like the maybe the tubing keeps bumping up against or irritating the ball on that side and it has me very tentative. I have been trying to pull gently on the pump and can easily grab the bulb, but when I try to feel for the release I get that lightening strike shock of pain that comes with messing with the wrong part of the testicle. My pump sits in a decent position at the bottom/middle-left of my scrotum. I am hopeful that this will improve and completely abate before I am cleared to cycle. Anyone else have issues with that sort of thing initially? If so, what were some of the things you did to help? Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated, and PM's are welcome.
P.S.- At what point do most guys start to incorporate heat into their regimen in addition to the icing and does it help
?

Great you passed the first week. Yes, grabbing anything in my sack hurt for a few weeks. Doc tried to deflate me at 2 week check up and it hurt so bad I stopped him. The bulb/pump will settle into place once the boys get used to having a roommate. Icing was something I didn't do, didn't know, hate cold anyway. Once doc cleared me to bathe a hot bath was my biggest relief. A hot bath/hot tub is also a good place to cycle.

Re: Bionic brotherhood, here I come.
Had my first follow-up appointment this morning at 27 days from getting my implant. Saw the NP as the Dr. had other surgeries scheduled today. Everything looks great according to her.......incisions are well healed and swelling is minimal to non-existent at this point. Pump placement is a little posterior but is still accessible when the scrotum is nice and loose (cold weather might make it more difficult) I told her that I followed instructions and would gently pull on the pump daily, but never really felt it move. She attempted to inflate me initially while I was lying on the exam table, but there was some discomfort on my left side (inguinal area) so she stopped and had me stand and attempt it myself. Once I was able to stabilize things I got 4-5 good pumps in before the bulb became too difficult to press. ( I may have been holding back a little as I'm still a bit apprehensive of losing the bulb and it ricocheting into a testicle!) Erection was good but not yet OEM size. I was 7.75"x5.75" before the implant and while I have yet to do an accurate measurement, it visually looks to be about 1.5 inches shorter. Deflate was not terrible once I was able to find the bars and was able to squeeze enough out to be much more comfortable than I have been for the 4 weeks at partial inflation.
Her instructions to me were to inflate at least 3 times a week for at least 20-30 minutes whether I am using it or not. Cleared for sex and I go back in another 8 weeks. I plan to cycle at least 5-6 times a week and use the hot tub to help get as much of a pump as I can so that I can get back to my original size. Overall, I'm happy to be progressing and the NP seemed very pleased so I'm encouraged and ready to get back in the game!
