Carrion was great as was Tampa General. I've been really surprised by the lack of pain. Still a long way to go...but no complaints so far.

Glad to hear all went well and that pain in manageable, how much Tylenol are you taking? I’m hoping to avoid the hard pain meds as well. Did they advise to take Tylenol over ibuprofen?

All the best with your new implant.
I believe testosterone affects sex drive. High testosterone increases desire for sex and frequency, but with the implant you will still enjoy sex, as it is directly related to the reaction of your partner.
My advice is to not get back to exercise activity without the consent of your doctor. You don't want to get herniated, which will be hard to fix.

A couple questions as I enter the post surgery phase:
- I went in expecting a "chubby" and I certainly have one. What percentage of the implant fluid is in the implant at this phase of the process? I've seen some references to 60%, is that accurate?
- Once I go back for my follow up in a month I assume that's when the cycling begins and full capacity of the implant is reached in time. How long does that take and is that an uncomfortable process?

A chubby is what you'll have for a few months. I was left 60% inflated for 5 1/2 weeks. Your new flaccid will be a semi-erection. At your one month follow up if doc allows you to begin cycling (inflate & deflate) that will be the beginning of regaining size and getting used to your new part. Most guys cycle for 6 months or more. Cycle means inflate daily for 30 minutes or longer.

Iwillbeatpd - My implant was 12 days ago. I took one percoset the night following surgery and since then nothing but perhaps some tylenol if the cycling gets too achey. Pain has not really been an issue.

So…here’s my story in a nutshell. I was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2016 and had a prostatectomy later that year. No natural erections since then. Vacuum, bimix, trimix all used with limited success for about three years and then I just gave up. It didn’t help that the cancer has returned twice since then necessitating radiation treatments and worst of all, androgen deprivation therapy - also known as chemical castration. The bad news was that I couldn’t have sex with my wife, the “good” news was that I really didn’t care because I had no testosterone and no libido. But, I know that my wife of 44 years, with whom I always had a great sex life up until 2016, did care. So I decided to finally do something about it.

Monday morning I’ll have the implant procedure with Dr Carrion in Tampa FL. I’ll admit to being a little nervous but this site has helped prepare me for what’s ahead. I am concerned that this is a lot to go through without the desire for sex and with unknown future as a stage 4 cancer patient. But the truth is none of us know our future - worst case it restores some intimacy to the marriage and brings joy to my wife.

My story is pretty close to yours. Out of the blue checkup and rushed to surgery headed towards stage 4. Prostrate removal and 3 very sad years with ED where my turtle head was 1.5 inches at best. Trimix etc was awful and not overly effective. I'm 1 year in and almost back to my 6 inch length and Girth which was my original size. I still have cancer left behind and I take orgovyx which has brought and kept my testosterone levels to almost zero. I was one to always say pre-op that my drive will always be there and this implant is the best thing I've done for myself, it feels completely natural and the only problem is......I want sex all the time. How did your surgery go? Which did you choose? I have Coloplast Titan. I'm finding that the pump is helping as well along with cycling. my recovery was very difficult but it was just a matter of doign rehab and time. GL to ya.

I have the Coloplast Titan as well. Little to no pain. 3 weeks until I have my follow-up so it'll be a while before cycling begins. It's probably a good thing because I've begun feeling around for the pump and it seems to be resting off to the right rather than in the middle...and very close to the right testicle. I can feel the "bulb" but can't imagine trying to squeeze it anytime soon. Ditto with the release value, its so close to tender areas that I want to think about trying to squeeze it.

Squeezing the bulb will seem impossible. I remember when it as rock hard. In time it will be so easy to use. Sometimes I have to reposition the bulb when I'm looking for the release valves which is no biggy and often, it isn't as "One Touch" as advertised. I suppose its different for everyone. Bit annoying but always get it down.
