Inflation % and Puffy skin

Postby Rusty Dude » Sun Nov 26, 2023 7:20 pm

I had my implant Nov 3rd 2023 and the skin just under the glan is really puffy, not painful but not pretty. Does this go away or will it always appear this way?

Also, when people talk about their inflation level how to you determine the % you are inflated to? I will be cleared in just under 2 weeks to cycle again

I have the AMS700LGX 18 CM with no rear tips...al ot of shrinkage at this point, i was expecting the 21cm but i did have a high volume Dr. I ended up with a perforation during the procedure.

I had and sometimes still get some puffy swelling. It will go away, seems to come around for me with aggressive cycling.

Inflation level is a guess, and individual. I can one hand pump to “max” then get 3-6 more pumps with two hands. Some buff dude might one hand pump more than i can two hand, there is no exact science here, you will have your version of maxed.

Thanks for your responses, i was concerned because of the puffy skin and also the crooked shaft.....i had a tough time for the first week. My scrotum was bruised and then black and my entire sack peeled. IT is still the size of at least a tennis ball plus the pump. I had an inter-pubic procedure I was concerned since i am diabetic.

The biggest complaint now is the weight of the pump.....my testicles are swollen so it seems like I chafe and am constantly having to unstick them from my thighs.

It sure is easy to be paranoid with this new adventure. I am hoping my wife of 40 years will approve of the look, feel, and loss of size.

Hi Rusty. Check out the dual, pouch underwear from David Archy (David achy, com). There is a pouch for your penis and one for your scrotum which might help with the chafing. I bought these for support after my implant n January 2022. They are the most comfortable underwear I’ve ever worn.

Hope this helps,
Rick

I had similar swelling and edema after my surgery.
It gradually resolved over the next several weeks.

I count 0% as completely deflated as much as I can squeeze all the saline from my penis. The implant tubes are easily felt as crinkled, collapsed tubes.

I count 100% as fully inflated as much as I can pump saline into the implant tubes.

I count 50% as after the deflation is begun, and the flow is self-sustaining, when the deflation stops on its own. That is, when the pressure in the reservoir is equal to the pressure from the implant tubes.

Everything in between is an estimate, but those reference points are pretty good; and, I think, universally applicable, particularly to men with AMS valves. Coloplast implantees may have to fiddle with the deflation process a bit, particularly to find that 50% point. 0% and 100% should be pretty easy to find.

Thanks,

So I guess I will have to wait until I get the clear to inflate and deflate from the Dr. next week....it will be almost 5 weeks.

Not sure how they determine I was inflated to 70% but it needs to be more for penetrative sex. I have tried half heartily to squeeze the bulb but it is rock hard and i didn't want to push it or accidentally deflate it.

Interesting that it doesn't deflate 100% or near that, i thought the AMS did. Any suggestions for questions when I see the nurse next week for my instructions, how many times should I do the exercise in the office, I don't want to get home and not be able to work it, it is a 2 hour drive to the Dr.

I am not sure how the wife will feel about using it now since she doesn't like the look and worried about the feel and maybe feeling fake pluss the initial at least loss in size from the ved numbers of about 1 3/4 inch.

Rusty -
I had my implant Nov 8. In accordance with my surgeon's instructions, I began cycling on day three. Right after removing the bandages etc it wasn't a pretty sight, but I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly everything has healed and looks much better now. There is still some fluid build up esp in scrotum that hasn't gone away completely but am assured that it will.
Don't worry about whether your wife likes how it looks; it will look good once healed.
As for underwear suggestions, in addition to David Archy you could also look at Separatec; same idea.
Lost Sheep's description of degrees of inflation is a pretty good guide.
Also, don't be shy about squeezing pump aggressively. It will loosen up in time. If too uncomfortable, try taking ibuprofen before hand.

Good luck to you! You are on the road.
