Considering implant despite being able to get erections... need advice.

I posted Bout my current familial situation in the introduction section but just to give some background.

I'm 38 m from the UK.

Good bmi and do not smoke or drink.

I have severe anxiety and stress in my life that I previously treated with citalopram- an ssri.

I always had performance anxiety that prevented me having fulfilling sex but generally put it down to anxiety. I fathered 2 children and was in a relationship for 14 years.

However my relationship broke down and I have a new partner now who is generally more sexually active.
For 5 months our sex life was good, until I suddenly developed chronic pelvic pain with pudendal nerve irritation.

Since then sex has been mixed. With Cialis I am able to get a decent erection butvfind it very hard to maintain itblonger than a few minutes and changing positions can be hard.

When the pelvic pain flares up it makes my penis electric and hard to get an erection at all.

I have mri results tomorrow to establish exactly what is going on and I'm going to book a doppler test in case it is VL.

Either way the appeal of an implant is hard to ignore. The stress relief... the relief of anxiety performance, the fact we can just enjoy ourselves sounds amazing.


Obviously having what may be a reasonably functioning penis means it's a bit of a decision.

Few questions.

If money is no object and I go to a top surgeon is it a very high success rate?

I don't want to turn a 7/10 penis into a 0.

Since I don't have full ED so there wont br shrinkage prior, will a good surgeon with the right unit be able to maintain my size?

I am approx 6.8 inches fully erect by about 4.6 girth so above average length but average girth.

Do many people who do not have profound ED get this done?

I know these are probably question for the consultation but I would like a few unbiased answers too.

1. I would encourage you to read many of the older posts on this site, esp. on the subject of Implants of course, but also any that deal with anxiety-related issues. This may help you to evaluate some of the plusses and minuses of what you are contemplating.
2. While having an implant does mean you can count on your erection being there when you need/want it, you should consider how you might feel about losing the ability to have a natural erection through arousal.
3. Getting an implant is irreversible; therefore, it pays to explore and to try all the other avenues first (pump, pills, injections - and counseling). I'm no expert, but it sounds as though you could benefit from a full evaluation from a urologist that specializes in men's sexual issues. And, it sounds as though there may be some psychological issues going on here.
4. If you do decide to go forward with an implant, experience in doing this sort of procedure should be top of your list in selecting a surgeon. Mine has done over 7,000 and I was confident that he knew what he was doing and had seen all sorts of situations. With a top surgeon success rates are high.
5. There will likely be some shrinkage but a skilled surgeon combined with a patient who is dedicated to doing his part in the prep and recovery can help mitigate that.
6. Also, while a bionic dick can stand up on command, it will feel different from how your member feels now. Nothing terrible but still different.
7. You're young and healthy. Explore all options before committing to this.
8. You are correct - these are questions for consultation.

Sounds like you need to find out how to stop the pelvic pain. I'm not sure an implant will fix that.
Using a top surgeon will be in your best interest. Infection rates are quite low no matter who does the surgery if they are experienced. Most guys maintain the length and girth, some actually gain size.
My advice is fix the pelvic pain, see how erections are after that. Seek out a good men's sexual health urologist to guide you and offer options.

Bellebite you got implanted this month, are you sure you are in a good position to tell how an implant feels? Most people dont get sensitivity and get accustomed to the implant until after 6-12 months and when they do the vast majority says it feels almost exactly the same. I wonder if part of that is because they actually forget how a normal dick used to feel

All I can tell you is what I am feeling. If you read a number of past posts on the site you'll start to get a sense of what other guys feel.
Maybe I'll eventually get to a place where it feels exactly like my prior working dick, but I'm guessing that it will always be different.
That being said, it's the best damn hard on I've had in a long time.

Problem for me is fixing the pelvic pain might not be that simple.

I obviously hope it's just a hypertonic pelvic floor take some anti spasmodic anti inflammatory suppositories and improve... but there's no guarantee.

It could be pudendal neuralgia, which is a whole different ball game. I find out tonight when I go for my mri results.

What complicates recovery is that i am in a very hard situation emotionally in the midst of making a decision about staying with my kids and a woman I do not love or moving in with the woman I love..
But she is quite active sexually, I'm not sure how she would take to months of no sex.

It's already been muted, sometimes I can't as too much pain and sensitivity, other times only lasting a few minutes.

Certainly less spontaneity as I can't get erections without manual stimulation anymore.. seems the pelvic dysfunction has messed up my erection muscles and doing kegels aggravates it.

Then again. It possibly strikes me as a shame to ruin a fairly healthy penis.

I mean the pelvic pain probably won't go away by getting an implant. That is something to ask the doctor.
If you have a very physical job recovery might take longer than most. Lifting stuff is hard on the groin area. Again, another question to ask doc.

The unpredictable penis I can understand. I can't comment on the pelvic pain as I've never experienced that sort of pain. However, if it causes the unpredictable penis and the pain is tolerable when it occurs maybe the implant is a solution.
That inability can also affect your mental status, cause depression.
