Pain vs. Discomfort vs Sore

I have convinced myself that the Bionic Dick is the way to go. I have gone through all the other things.....Pills, Supplements, Pump, Injections (Ouch), back to the Pump, and all have been a struggle. I hope to get this done in Jan.....still in discussion with Uro. I have jumped out of planes and struggled through the jungles, so I think I'm man enough. I have this question from the ones that have gone through it.

After your surgery, how did it really go? I have read, it was painful, to discomfort, even slight discomfort, to sore. I say, bullshyt. Seeing videos of the procedure, That's a very violent procedure in such a delicate area. So please, which did you experience? Pain, Discomfort, Slight Discomfort, or Sore. From what I see, you will need some serious PAIN meds. The Real Pain Meds, not that Tylenol crap. But Oxy, Hydros, and others.

Your probably heard this before, everyone is different. Given that, I think it is the surgeon that makes the most difference. Mine was very proud of her skill and ability to keep pain at a minimum and to size properly. Expected a lot more pain but I turned out ot be a almost nothing. They used a nerve block which she described as a new aproach to help avoid pain meds and I literally had no feeling In my shaft and testicles for a few days and no pain after it wore off. I gladly would had endured much more pain to get erections back. I was surprised at how long it took to stop feeling sore when pumped up, but it does slowly but noticeable improve. Pretty good at 6 months. Now at 8 and feels pretty normal.

I too thought i had a high tolerance for pain and discomfort until i went through this surgery. Am almost 5 months into it and don't feel like am out of the woods yet. Its a pretty rough surgery. Am very impressed by people who say they are virtually pain free just weeks after. In my case the surgery itself felt like a breeze for the most part but the CYCLING part has been pretty rough. On the flip side i suppose that means am still getting stretched out real nice.

I've written quite a bit about my recovery. I had penoscrotal. I bought my pain meds a day before surgery. My pain level was within reason, first 3-4 days was low to moderate. I took my pain meds as directed every day. Rotate taking tyenol & ibuprofen. They can be taken together but alternate them. At days 4 & 5 I hit a rough patch. I had a few pain pills that I saved from a root canal. They were a little stronger than what I was prescribed. I think I substituted 2 or 3 of the stronger ones on those days. In hind sight, I might of been able to take an extra 1 or 2 of my surgeons pills because after day 5 my pain went way down.

As dentestes implies. The discomfort doesn't always stop at 1 week. I did continue taking ibuprofen at night for about a month. Maybe longer.

While I won't say my pain was low, it was treatable & for the most part bearable. My wife says that I have a low pain tolerance. I've never agreed with her .

I filled a prescription for Oxy, but never took any.

I made due with Tylenol.

Tylenol for me also - and lots of ice and elevation. Yes - there's some times when something stronger would have been nice - but not needed. Recommend you fill the 'hard stuff' prescription to have on hand - and then see what happens for you. And - stay ahead of the discomfort - take the Tylenol, or whatever, regularly before the pain becomes 'unbearable.' As with so many situations we all handle it / experience it differently - don't discount the experience of others in your rush to be a 'tough guy'...

Tylenol here as well. Put me in the slight discomfort category. I had very little bruising or swelling and have to say there was discomfort but no burning pain. The discomfort was made worse by the 3/4 erection I had for a couple of weeks. I also had a scrotoplasty so that added some recovery time. It’s one of those things you just set your mind to do and you move through it one day at a time: every day was better for me. I took before and after pics and then pics from time to time to record my progress. The first pic after I unwrapped the incision wasn’t too bad! It took a while for the implant to stretch out but I was amazed to see the length and straightness after a while. Go for it.

I’m just finishing up day 2 of recovery. First two days have been very manageable. The initial local anesthetic my dr used is supposed to wear off in 2-3 days. I’ve only been taking ibuprofen and my pain is probably about a 3. Worst was trying to pee, felt like pissing glass and that was a 8 probably during those 30 seconds. A result of the catheter. We’ll see what’s ahead though I’m still early in it. But so far it hasn’t been hard at all, where as some say the first couple days are brutal. Wasn’t my experience at all.

I'm not sure what to write except yes, for at least the first week or two I was very much in serious pain. Not like I was crying and immobile or wanting to off myself, but the penis is obviously a very sensitive part of the body, so it should surprise no one that major surgery to it is likely to be painful.

I took more Oxycodone than I was supposed to (like always), and they wouldn't refill it after maybe my 4th refill in 10 days (not positive about those numbers). This meant I had to drive to the hospital and check into the ER to prove to them that my dick hurt.
