I was scheduled to get a doppler redone, but now this new uro is telling dopplers are outdated and that getting one wont change anything. Also she says no one will put an implant in at my age, that it’s gruesome, shortens penis, and Ill get an infection when I get it replaced. What do I do? Is she right or was my previous uro bad?

Doctors do differ a lot on this. Like breast enhancement. There is a cosmetic aspect to it as well as function. Or fixing a broken nose. Some doctors are really good and others just not so much. My local doctors were very low volume and seemed to want to take care of insurance company instead of me. I received the same thing about the treatment being the same with or without testing. But that is just bullshit as if testing shows a defect, then implant would be a go. What it is, is them having a noninterest in implant surgery. Mostly fueled by insurance company pressure. Insurance does not cover pills or injections so that does 2 things. It saves insurance cost of the test and prolongs the time before insurance pays for the implant. This will vary from place to place and state to state as insurance is state controlled. Some states are better than others with better doctors. The business office at my local uro's office even told me my doctors results were so poor that a large number of men had the device removed after the surgery was done. That goes against the world satisfaction percentage from implant surgery. None of the doctors in the group did repairs or replacements. And I was told to expect 1-2" loss of size with surgery. Both from the doctors and the men they did surgery on.

I would suspect your new insurance on this. BCBS of KS hates to pay for this. And they did not pay for everything. There were parts of the surgery they would not pay for. In addition to my copay and deductible I was still going to have to pay above my max out of pocket total up front. Was told with a 3k max out of pocket to expect to pay 4 to 7k and I never went back to find out the exact amount. They can have a lot of power in a state and control doctors a great deal with slow reimbursement to the point the doctors have trouble paying bills and employees. Or even drop the doctor from the network of the people they insure. And some health care workers do not see this as real medical care either. Even in the case of cancer patients. Men will not die from ED or not be able to work and pay insurance and doctor bills, so it is not a medical issue to them. And even less so that breast reconstruction surgery. They consider themselves medical doctors and see this as cosmetic surgery. Some who have not lived where this can happen may find it difficult to understand.

Your doctor is as right as she is wrong. There are doctors that have so little interest in implant surgery that they give the results your doctor and my local uro groups business office stated. And they will find a way not to do the surgery or put it off for years. That was where she was right, and she seems to be included in this group. Where she is wrong is there are very good doctors working for men in areas of the US and world that do testing to help men instead of prolonging ED and the size loss it creates. They keep up to date with surgery procedures and are skilled enough to do repairs and replacements with very good results. My current local uro stated to me he did try replacement or repair and he was not good enough to do it. And no longer would do this surgery. I had to go out of area 200 miles to find a doctor to do this. And that is why I decided not to use insurance and have my first surgery done locally and pay out of pocket for a better doctor. Even good doctors have problems. Even the best doctors have men that get infected. But your chances are extremely low of that happening with a high volume very good doctor.

You can try and see if there is other doctors in your insurance network that you can see. Do some online research to see if they are higher rated. May not help though if the doctors are all in the same uro group and work together. I would ask about replacement or repair surgery and what doctor(s) do those surgeries. And I would try to get the best doctor for this.

Thanks for the reply. When/how long did it take for your cylinders to soften?

To soften, six to eight months. Once I figured out how to deflate the thing for the next three / four months or so I wore a daily jockstrap. Definitely helped. That, and the Separatec underwear. I have a real job, and can't walk around in a serious environment like that.

I have the same issue re a serious environment.

Any tips? I am 10 months post-surgery and the dog ear protrudes out, and the flaccid angle sticks out at 4 o clock. Even in tight clothes it sticks out.

Any advice?

Don't have dog ears, so no clue what to tell you. 1. do not wear tight clothes. 2. Get the jock strap. And if necessary experiment to make it tight(er). I think you can push it down (AKA: the Perito exercises) daily 3. Get a Leg Bag. I wear mine to work, and no one cares. They're usually sold in motorcycle shops. Or you can get them on Amazon. Being 5 days post op, I don’t see a concern with my flacid dick. I mean it’s huge, probably 6.5 inches and girthy, but I just bend it to the side. I’ve been doing the helicopter exercises flacid, and constantly adjusting the angle of my flacid in my pants so the cyclinders and relax and be more flexible. My natural crease of my dick is near the base so I just move it to the side. The only time I’d say it’s super noticeable is if I’m not fully deflated-in which case I have an almost 7 inch flacid hiding in my pants lol. But fully deflated it gets much less girthy, way more flexible too so you can bend in all directions. I really think alot of people have this complaint because they’re not fully deflated.

Even my natural flacid was maybe 5 inches before, long and skinny. Now it’s a little longer but alot more girthy. Obviously a little harder to hide, but it was hard to hide even before the implant. At the same time, we’re men, so if someone sees my dick a little, it is what it is lol. I don’t feel the need to go to great lengths to hide my dick. But I also would never walk around with a full erection in tight jeans, very different concepts.

I think the issue with mine is that I am not fully deflated but also the flaccid angle hasn't dropped, so when flaccid, I still stick out.

Will give the perito/helicopter exercises a go and just give it time for now.

A urologist here said that my reservoir is scrunched, which may be causing auto-inflation, but nothing I can do about it, says it's not worth another surgery.

Can’t you just bend your dick at the base to make it crease? If not then yea it’s probably because it’s not deflated enough. If I have even a few pumps, I can bend it some but it flops back to straight. When fully deflated I can move it to the side and it stays there

I have tried, it still sticks out, so does the dog ear. My guess is that there is some auto-inflation, the flaccid angle hasn't lowered enough yet and also, my frenulum is swollen and tender. I need a good doc that's knowledgeable with TEP to take a look, Hakky isn't available until late Jan, I might try Clavell for a virtual appointment.

Be careful when putting downwards pressure on your penis, you're still recovering and it could have an impact on your erect angle. I think it was user 'Trapper'' on the peyronies forum who wore his flaccid down in compression underwear one a day for gym, he ended up with an erection angle a bit lower than 3 o clock.

Yo! I just replied to your post on this, sorry hadn’t seen this yet. I don’t understand how it still shows if you bend it left or right. I’m 7 inches right now post op and I can bend mine at the base either direction and it stays as long as I have briefs. Not necessarily hard left or right, but maybe a little down left or down right. Point being any angle that’s not sticking straight out lol. It would be impossible to hide if I tried to wear it straight out.

I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like the surgeon messed up, and therefore should redo it. That's not the fault of the Titan, but surgeon error.

My erection is not lower than 3 o clock, it points at either 3 or 2 when erect however it used to point at 1 or 12:30 before. I'm trapper on PD forum. I am Happy with my result.

If it was definitive that pointing it up changes improves the angle I would think Hakky and all other surgeons would tell their patients to do so but that's not the case.
