Recommendations on doc in Louisville/experience with Campbell in Cincy?

Postby artdeco » Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:12 am

Hi all,

Some background: I'm 69 and was treated for prostate cancer in 1998 at age 44. I had successful radiation therapy and never had a bit of trouble with erections until a couple of years ago.

Viagra and cialis don't do anything except give me a headache. Injections were somehwhat more effective, but not enough for penetration. Not to mention extremely awkward and inconvenient.

So I think I'm ready to try an implant.

I live in Louisville, KY and would love to find a doc close to home, but in scanning this board I don't think there's anybody with a lot of experience in this area. If anybody can make a recommendation, it would be much appreciated.

Cincinnati is about 2 hours from here, so that would be an OK second choice. I have an initial appointment with Kevin Campbell with The Urology Group there later this month. Has anybody had any experience with him? Apparently he only does Coloplast.

I'm within driving distance of Chicago, Indianapolis, and Nashville as well. At this point I'm wide open to suggestions!

I just want to get it done right.

Thanks.

I used Dr Thomas Slabaugh in Lexington for both my original and replacement. He only uses Ams, but i was kind of leaning that way anyway. Im quit happy with the outcome of both surgerys.

Campbell did mine. Yes, I think he only uses Coloplast. His office staff is pretty good, he is all business and move on. Happy with my results, no problems, I'm 4 years post. He doesn't give much info for aftercare, never instructed me to cycle. At my 6 week follow up and released for sex all he told me was "go use it.".
I didn't find FT until 5 months after my surgery. Since you already found FT, you should know what to do.

I live near Cincinnati and there is no way I’d let these hillbillies around here work on anything. There are very few world class guys in any field and I assure you that none of them are in southwest Ohio
