Initial Consultation.....If you wanna call it that!

Today I visited my urologist in my small town of 65,000 people to discuss an implant. Mind you that he is the ONLY urologist in our city. So he stays booked and busy. I made this appointment more than 3 months ago.

After giving him the details of my situation which are....I can get an erection and even perform but I have SEVERE premature ejaculation, and cannot maintain a following erection. We talked about how much I hate the inconvenience and discomfort of a shot. I told him everything that you guys talk about on this from that applies to me. He proceded to examine me and stated that he notices scar tissue. Okay...not sure where that comes from...but hey...you're the doctor. He then tells me that implanted will only get me this long (he stretches my penis). Okay...kinda knew that. He goes on to tell me that he doesn't think that I would be happy with an implant because of the quality of the erection from an implant is not tat of a normal erection. I hesitantly replied...okay. He then asks if I have any questions.

My first question was, 'How many implants do you place and how often?" Now from reading all the posts from this and other forums I did have an expectation for an answer. You ready for his answer? 'We perform about 6-10 (hoping for a WEEK)....A YEAR!" I really wanted to get up and walk out then. Probaly should have. I asked him which implant do you use and why. He stated "I use the AMS....it's just proven to be a better product over the years!" I'm looking at him as if to say, "thats it?". So I finally ask what are your suggested next steps. He stated "get some numbing cream and try a vacuum pump. I don't think you'll be happy with an implant"! I left....kinda disappointed.

I see Dr. Clavell on a virtual visit January 15!

think again having surgery with your local urologist based on that encounter.

you'll probably get a very different experience with dr clavell.

i was told a stat that of all the urologists that place implants, 90% of urologists implant <5 implants a year. Why even offer the surgery if you don't have the experience. Seek out surgeon routinely doing >100 a year.

I can tell you without hesitation that what I have now after Dr. Clavell is inches longer than what that doc showed me with is gloved hand. This resulted in one of my main questions to Dr. Clavell being how he felt about maximum sizing during the surgery. I asked that of the Kaiser doc and he said that he recommended being somewhat conservative to not have any erosion issues or other problems. I knew that those concerns were extremely minimal with a quality surgeon, and those quality surgeons go for as much length as possible.

Although Dr. Clavell never had the chance to hold me out with a gloved hand and tell me what I'd end up with, the choice became to go with the Kaiser guy who DID estimate the end product for $200 copay, or pay $20,000+ out pocket and trust that Dr. Clavell would provide me with the maximum my body would allow. (they can't work magic).

I knew the length I had been in my prime, so I knew my tissues were ABLE to get that big at some point in my life, and what the Kaiser doc showed me was nothing even close.

So, I relied on many here on FT and trusted Dr. Clavell to give me the very best outcome possible. I think he did and I'm thrilled. The money isn't even a consideration.

You are not very clear as to your question. So I'll answer what I think you might be asking about.
Most drs do a flacid penis stretch test. He grabs it really tight & pulls almost hard enough to make you fall on your face. This measurement is generally really close to what you be right after surgery. Actually I was about .5cm longer. If your tissue will support a longer penis, its up to you to get it by dedicated cycling. Plan on devoting 1 to 1 1/2 years to cycling to get your max size.

this Kaiser doc I met with did not do this. He just held it straight out with no extensive stretching and said "this will be what you'll end up with".

A stretch test might make more sense, but I didn't get that, maybe the OP did.

I think I got lucky with my surgeon.
He's not exactly high volume, IIRC he said he does about 30 to 50 a year.
I'm pretty happy with the results, with the only issue being I think pump placement could have been a bit better.

That stretch test was done on my by Dr. Perito. I thought “uh oh, that ain’t good”.

Went with Dr. Clavell and surprisingly i think im bigger both length & girth, than before. I never measured, but like most of us, we are very familiar with how it feels and looks when holding in our hands. I can tell it’s bigger.
