Penis Injection for erectile dysfunction

Let me start off by saying I am 78, have not had a erection in 20 years. This was because having to have my prostate removed due to cancer. Happy to report since then I have been cancer free. But a lack of a prostate results in a lack of interest in sex. And a lack of a sexual drive led to mental issues for myself suffering and frustration for my partner. Over the years I tried many things ranging from "the little blue pill" to things I should have not wasted the money on purchasing over the Internet.

The one thing I never tried was a injection directly into the penis. The thought always was "you're going to do what to my cock.....no way." I finally decided enough was enough and consulted a urologist. Had not seen one in 20 years. So I finally called and as luck would have it, got a appointment the next day. Had to fill out a 9 page questionnaire on my sex life or in my case lack of, such as it was. There were many questions on my physical and mental health. Questions of the size of my dick, does it point left, right, up or down. In my case the answer was none of the above.

Finally went in to see the doctor who immediately put me at ease. He asked even more detailed question concerning my erectile dysfunction. He went on to explain the many options ranging the pill to having surgery to a implant. After explaining and showing a short video on how it was done I felt somewhat as ease and decided to go through with it. Blood work was done to check my testosterone level. A low T level can be one reason for a low sex drive and ED.

Once he knows the level, he can order the necessary material. Once he has it, I go back to the office. This time to be shown the correct procedure for the injection. That should be in about a week. Only one problem...the injection lesson will be done by a female nurse ! This might prove to be interesting. (grin)

November 11th, the day after my 79th birthday I walked into the doctors examination room a little apprehensive about what I was about to do. One, have a woman explain and guide me through the procedure and two, I was going to stick a needle in the side of my cock. The first fear went in 30 seconds. She was professional and quickly got me over that fear. As for the needle, it was not as bad as what you feel when they draw blood from your arm. You start off with a low dosage to start, in this case 25 units of the drug. I received the necessary instructions on how to draw the fluid into the hypodermic and the correct place to do the injection.

Trust me, it hurts more in the mind than in your cock when you push the plunger. You always start with a low dose to see the reaction. When you have your own supplies (more on that later) at home you can increase the dosage until you find the proper amount for you.. It takes about 10 minutes for it to take effect. In my case became semi erect Not suitable for penetration yet. I will increase it to 35 units. But never the less not bad for the erection in 20 years !!

Your told the standard warning "If the erection last more than 4 hours seek immediate treatment." This first one for me lasted about30-45 minutes then began to soften.. Still erect, the same diameter, but now about half the length it was. Not too shabby if I say so myself...and I will. Can't wait to try a increased dosage.

Once the doctor see's that the drug works for you, they send a prescription for a supply of the drug and needles that will be sent to you at home. The drug has to be kept in the refrigerator. I'm told it has a shelf life of 6-8 months. You can take it every other day if you have a need for it. At least to start, I know damn well I have that need. No idea what it will cost me. I do know Medicare and my prescription drug coverage plan will not cover it. When I find out the over the counter price I will tell you.
Bottom line to this....Don't wait like I did 20 years before you do something about ED. There is more than one drug available that the doctor can try if the first one does not produce a result. There was a time that if you were old and couldn't get it up, there was nothing that could be done. Now there is, take advantage of it. You are never too old to enjoy the pleasures of your penis.

When I started on November 12th, I injected 25 units of the drug ALPROSTADIL. This produced a slight erection that lasted 10-15 minutes. After waiting 2 days, I increased the dosage to 35 units. The erection this time was better, but still not truly hard and lasted only 20 minutes before becoming soft once again. Last night I tried again, this time increasing the injection to 45 units. The erection lasted about 20 minutes, but still not hard, though maybe sufficient for penetration. I have yet to put it to use.

Tomorrow I'll try 55 units of the drug. After that I have to call the doctor's office. I was told that if the drug ALPROSTADIL does not work, there are others that can be tried. Perhaps I'm asking for too much, a genuine HARD erection. But will keep at it and see what happens.

I called the doctors office the day before Thanksgiving. Told them I needed something that will produce a HARD erection that will last more than 20-30 minutes. They will be sending Trimix and some needles. It's expected to arrive on Monday. Let's hope this does what I want.

Stan , it is too bad some guys have to wait so long for a boner . I myself waited three years , trying pills and the pump .

Well, I have tried up to .65 units. Still without serious results. My next injection of .75 is sitting in the fridge...waiting for my wife to come home from a trip to NY.

What is the highest dosage anyone has had to use to get that really hard erection good enough for easy penetration?

This tri-mix is causing some serious swelling of my unit, but still not enough for a confident exprience with my wife...

Mike, I suppose it also depends on the strength of your medicine?
My syringes only go to .5ml and I used .4 early on with a pretty weak formula.
