More questions around Implant Recovery

Hey guys,

I wanted to post some of the additional questions on implant recovery I had here in anticipation of my doctor's appointment. I will ask the doctor these questions as well, I'd like to hear what advice you got on this personally.

1. How many days/weeks after the surgery were you cleared to get wet/use the hot tub? From that point on, do you remove the gauze and bandages and never put any on again, or is there a period during which you can use the tub but need to reapply bandaging?
2. What did you do if you got pee on the gauze and bandaging in the early days? Did you have to remove the bandaging and reapply it to yourself? Infection risk worries me.
3. How long did you point your penis towards your belly button for the optimal erection angle?
4. Can I use any creams on the sutures to alleviate irritation in the early days, or does this create infection risk?
5. Do you still ejaculate as hard and as far as you did before the surgery?

1 - 4 weeks i was cleared for a bath.
2- i didnt have a big bandage after a couple days.
3- I never pointed my cock up, naked would be best but I stayed in pajamas the first 6 days and any day i worked from home, pajamas o underwear. For work i pointed it left up and right and would adjust when it got uncomfortable.
4- I didnt use any creams till weeks 6. Ask your doc.
5 - ejaculation is same as pre op, the orgasm itself is way! Stronger after the implant.

1-Doc kept me out of a bath for about 14 days. Bandages came off the third day, only a small gauze on the incision the next few days. The bandages should all be long gone before you can bathe.
2-Yea, I peed on my bandage the first day, just a dribble. The second time I peed more dribble so I changed the gauze wrap and wrapped it lower leaving my tip exposed more. As long as you don't stick your hands around the incision all will be fine. Hands have a lot of bacteria on them. Pee is pretty much sterile.
3-I never pointed my penis up except for the first few days when it was wrapped up in bandages and gauze. Pretty much let it stick straight out until most of the soreness disappeared, then it was pointed down my left leg just like it used to.
4-I would avoid using any creams or lotions on the sutures unless your surgeon approves. That could be an infection risk.
5- Since I'm a lot older my ejaculation was already getting weak. It feels the same but definitely weaker.

My surgery was about a year and a half ago. My memory is foggy about exact dates, but I did keep a journal that answers some of your questions.

1) According to my notes my first hot bath was on day #3. That seems surprisingly early, but my notes show hot bath again on day #4, #5, and #6, so it must be right. I wouldn't have done that without my doc's permission. (I had infra-pubic, if that makes a difference.)

2) I don't recall pee being a problem. My understanding is that urine is usually pretty sterile. Also the end of your dick is pretty far away from either of the usual incision sites.
