Got my implant on January 16,2024

Postby Carlosepr1968 » Sat Jan 20, 2024 8:12 am

Hi guys. I got my AMS 700 implant last week, on January 16, 2024. Its been only 4 days of my surgery. In general terms, I feel all right. I have some pain in the abdominal area were the reservoir is located. I can feel it when I touch. I also have some bruises on my penis. Is that normal? No pain or swelling in my scrotum.

BUT, I've had strong pain on my penis for the last two days. Even ice or Percocet won't help. It has some swelling in the right side. I know it is too soon but I feel a little nervous about that. My penis looks "weird", fatter on the right side due to inflammation. Will it look "normal" again, eventually? In terms of size, I don't see any difference prior to the surgery. I'll have to wait a few weeks until I see if there is any change.

I'm a 56 y/o gay man strugling with ED for over 15 years. Tried every kind of pills and they eventually stopped making any effect. My urologist prescribed me a mixture of Cialis and Viagra, wich worked for some time. After several months, this mixture of pills stopped working. He also tried with injections and they produced CERO effect on me. He made me an ultrasound and resulted that I had blood curculation problems. He recommended the implant. I thought about it for about two years. I felt ashamed because I consider myself a young man to get a penis protesis implant. I exercise regularly and eat healthy most of the time. I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol, maybe some beers once in a while, and don't do drugs, except for medical cannabis The average age of his patients is 56.

During these years, ED affected me emotionally. I was Dx with Clinical Depression and General Anxiety Sindrome over 20 years ago and this condition made me feel worse. I felt like a plant pot when I was trying to have sex with my boyfriend (or someone else- we share together with other people from time to time). I had to change my role to verstaile-active to fully bottom. I couldn't even have solo sex. It was very hard to get an erection even alone. My boyfriend has been very supportive in this process and took me to the surgery. We've been together for 10 years. Even my exwife knows and has been worried and supportive too.

Any supportive comments about your experience during this process, particularly during the first days after the surgey, will be appreciated.

My surgeon was Dr. José Saavedra, the only urologist in Puerto Rico specialized in men's sexual health. He has a lot of experience and is well trained in these procedures. He has been trained in the USA and Europe, and publishes research on this topic.

Thanks a lot guys.

Welcome to the bionic group. Time is what you have to wait for. It'll take a couple months to heal up and feel good. It will take up to a whole year to fully heal and feel like the implant is part of you.

Way too soon to begin worrying friend. All of us will tell you where you are now is nothing like where you’ll be in just a few months.

We have different experiences with pain. The odds are overwhelming your favor that this discomfort you feel now will fully pass. I sat on a donut cushion for two solid months. Now, it doesn’t hurt one bit, ever.

Fears about size, shape, bruising, swelling, will all resolve.

With time. I know. This day to day obsession with your newly implanted penis is the hardest part. You want to hurry time and healing. You can’t. Continue to ice, take your meds, rest…and try to relax your body & mind. Medical science has done its part, now its mother nature’s turn. And you can’t rush mother nature.

You’re going to be fine.

56 isn't too young. As you noted the average age for your doctor was 56

I'm turning 50 and hoping to get this done this year. I think 50's is totally appropriate, not that any age is inappropriate. But by our 50's a lot of guys are working with weak erections and taking Viagra even if they don't need or want an implant

One question...I noticed you said you have an ex-wife...do you think your experiences with ED led you to engage in a homosexual lifestyle?

I ask this, because I feel ED led me to feeling unworthy of women and I even stopped watching str8 porn, because thinking of women made me feel inadequate. I began thinking if I should try and go that direction just to feel a connection, but I just didn't have that lifestyle in me. I think I just have the need for have women hurt me

I got my AMS 700 LGX 4 days after you.

We are now both about 5 weeks out.

My recovery was painful and some serious edema (swelling). My scrotum is still swollen.

Felt good enuf to attempt intercourse last night. It was difficult to use the pump -- it seemed
very hard (almost solid) but eventually got a couple of pumps sufficient for penetration.
Intercourse was about 30% pleasure, 70% pain.

This morning, I'm in pain -- and I am having difficulty getting the deflation mechanism working.
I am hoping that it is ok to be in a rigid, probably about 50% inflation state for a long time until
I can get it working. My dr appt isn't until another week. Probably jumped the gun on
intercourse, but I've heard between 4 - 6 is ok for first try.

Hope you are doing well. From my experience, and what I've read here, it takes time...
AMS 700 LGX December 2023.

No. ED didn't make me gay. I was already. Just didn't realize until my middle 40s, married, with children. It was a very difficult marriage. No, I didn't marry to hide myself. It is a story for some other time. BUT I still think that guilt and shame have something to do with my ED. I was raised in a very conservative, Catholic, macho family. Went to a Catholic school also and was bullied every day for 12 years and I didn't understand why. Now I do. Coming out on my mid 40s and my divorce was a very dark time in my life to face my wife, my children, my own family that rejected me....imagine all that in your mind trying to get an erection and enjoy sex.

Now we get along just fine. We help each other, and we have gone altogether to the teather, the movies, eating out...

I've been in that state for two weeks. Doctor is waiting for swelling to go down to be able to get to pump. It's not the same threat as with priapism from meds for some reason.....unknown to me.

I was 52 when I got my implant. I look back and wished I had gotten it at 42 because I was having major issues then.
