What's the longest you've had an IPP before the need for revision? Trying to gauge a ballpark estimate of what to realistically expect regarding the lifespan of an IPP.

I did have a sling repair for a proximal perforation, but I have all my original device components. They will be 6 years old in March. There was a study with a large number of researched surgeries to compare case volume of surgeons for infection rate and reoperations. It also addressed device lifespan in relation to case volume. As expected, a doctor with higher case volume had longer device lifespan. Even the lower volume doctors had north of 90% of devices working at 10 years. Thank you so much for responding! I see you were implanted by Dr. Kramer, so I'm assuming you have an AMS?

I need to get an implant but am concerned about the burden of subsequent revision. Some people here have described having a revision at 12 months or sooner to my recollection.

What you sent me is very encouraging but seems primarily concerned with revision due to infection rates. I'm thinking more of mechanical failure. But like you said, you've had yours for six years.

I'm considering Kramer myself.

You already know the life span of my IPP's, this will be my 5th surgery in just over 3 years, not typical, but it's a fact in my life.
Leaning hard towards the MPP.
In my mind I'm about 70% in favor of the MPP

If the only info you're judging IPP lifespan is from this forum remember many guys with implants that are working well do not come here to talk about them. Maybe the occasional guy has come back that has 10+ years of reliable use from his implant.
Best is to figure 10-15 years of life if all goes as it should. Then think what advancements implants might have in 10-15 years.
I say don't worry about the future, tomorrow is never promised.

10 years Titan, then revision.

Also keep in mind most satisfied implanted men are not posting on this forum because they have no reason to seek advice so the feedback you receive will be a small sample size. For me personally I didnt post for years and years on this forum for that very reason. Now Im just trying to pass it on and provide information.

You can tell because he says a 21cm implant. Titans don't come in 21cm's.
