Yep, it's all about the user-friendliness. The trade-off could be larger size.

Seems to me that the only real change is the valve system, which may or may not be an improvement. I assume it will be, but I've also assume the "new and improved" with other products had made me wish I had stayed with the old tried and true.

The deflate button is very pronuonced on my AMS pump, I've never had a single issue identifying it through my scrotal skin. This seems to be more of a complaint with Titan pumps, not AMS. Making the button more pronounced is fine, I guess.

The added nubs on the bulb are supposed to add 'traction' to the bulb when pumping. My AMS pump looks like a small hand grenade with grooves all around it for gripping. I was given a keyring version at the time of my surgery, but I've yet to use it for my house keys.... I've never wished I had more grip on it, and the ones shown in the brochure merely look like a different design, not noticeably better. I can pump my bulb from any direction, so I'm not sure why adding a tactile circle on the bulb itself would make and difference. Are they saying you have to pump the bulb from that circled spot?

The longer neck is new, but if it makes the overall pump/valve structure bigger, that is not an improvement. The con to the existing AMS pumps for many men is the larger pump structure, especially if you have a smaller scrotum. Making it larger is not something I believe men are looking for. I have a larger scrotum, so the size is not an issue at all for me, but I know some prefer the smaller Titan pump structure.

In February, I asked Dr. Clavell prior to my surgery if there was anything coming down the line that I should be aware of. He mentioned an upgrade to the AMS pump system, but it was much more than this Tenacio pump. He couldn't say much about it since he's consulting with AMS on it's design, but he insinuated that it was still a few years off. Others here on FT have mentioned the new technology, and I'm assuming that I won't have the same system I do now when I get my first revision, hopefully many, many years from now.

Looking forward to your impressions, @Tmansdorfer. The problem with all of us is that there's no way for us to compare.

Foggy pump, the pumping action just doesn’t feel clean like the mornings the pump has great clean thumb on thumb pumps do.
I do think the way one carries the amount of saline during the day effects the valve to some degree. My typical day is cycle in morning an hour, fully deflate, add 3 or 4 pumps to keep the dog ears at bay during the day including gym. Then before bed fully deflate. Morning repeat…

Thanks , yes everything went well and I have had little pain except where they removed the large section of fat pad. Unfortunately the new AMS pump is not available yet so they just changed the cylinders to the LGX and increased to 21cm and removed my large fat pad. It is too early to tell but I think I will have a good result.

I might get it if available during my revision. I don't really see much difference other than it might be longer than the current one ( not a problem for me ), the faster pumping I doubt I would notice it. As far as the new design of the grips it might make it less slippery when pumping, but I don't know. The independent valves I would think might make it last longer, but it also adds a bit more complexity to a simple design which could make it more temperamental to deal with.

"Independent valve functions designed to limit mechanical failure."

Anything that contributes to a reduction in mechanical failure is a good step forward.

More of this.
