I ruined everything. From my previous posts, I’m the rarest horrific case possible. Uncontrolled diabetes from age 15. No internet back in 1989. I was 23 yrs old and impotent. Yohimbe was the only pill before cialis and viagra. Tried injections, didn’t work. I was so young and stupid, went to an inexperienced urologist who talked me into a malleable implant. I suffered with pain for 5 yrs from this and pain was from type 1 diabetes. I couldn’t conceal it, so 5 yrs later it was damaged. Depression that I done a horrible mistake. Now, 35 yrs later, I still have the broke malleable in. Lost all feeling there because of diabetic neuropathy. I currently have severe bladder problems from diabetes. I have to use a catheter to urinate from urine retention. This can damage my kidneys. I don’t want a revision because of total loss of feeling. If I get the implant removed, then I don’t know go I will urinate. My penis is gone and kidney problems can occur. Think abt surgery as your last resort. If your not diabetic, then ur chances are better outcome.

Hey wolfpacker... I am being advised to try a circumcision. I feel like this will remove a lot of the redness, but cos the dermatologist said the skin left behind would be just go red and inflamed instead, its putting me off.

They are all saying a revision is a waste of time, so I am reluctant to push for it. But when i am due a revision I will be getting the AMS for sure to see if it makes a difference. Privately I am hoping my pump breaks or something to force a revision! Haha.

Urine retention sounds like your urethra is being squeezed by the prostate.
It happened to me and Tamsulosin helped, but eventually, I needed a TURP procedure to remove prostate tissue. My kidneys had been damaged so much that I was stage 4 kidney disease. If you need a cath to urinate, you have to address this.

I knew a guy who was only treated at the VA who always needed the cath. They never did anything further.

That is an underlying issue. Not what the OP has (I think).
He does have a point of mental anguish and (physical) relationship issues.
Bottom line, up to you on implant's worthiness.
Some guys hit the jackpot with an implant and get the penis of their dreams, others, the Dr. messed up.
Do your research, get opinions, take recent pics of yourself (your dick) at attention.
Ask yourself if its worth it.

If you do go through with it, you will have to make sacrifices. Remember, an implant is NOT the real thing. Its tubing, or if its a malleable, just adjustable rods (think flexible neck of a desk lamp). Sex positions will be compromised so you have to do what works for you and your partner.

I am awfully sorry to hear about your trials & tribulations. I can only hope that for every case like yours, there are a lot more like mine.

Implant assisted sex is the best sex of my life. I’ll be 68 next month. So it’s not like I haven’t been sexually active for a long time. I’ve got quite a few data points to compare.

Teenage years/Early sex: my built in ED never mattered. I was so thrilled to be getting laid the fact I could only keep an erection for a couple of minutes was irrelevant. I was finished long before then.

Late 20s/Getting married: we (me and wife) knew something wasn’t quite right sexually, but attributed a lot of it to performance anxiety. A year or so after we got married I started seeing doctors. The fact you have had such a bad experience despite going to a supposedly top surgeon shows there's no guarantee. I wonder if the satisfaction rate is actually a lot lower but skewered online.
