Cost of revision/correction?

Postby passionatedoer » Fri Feb 16, 2024 9:08 pm

For example the cost of the implant is $25k.

What happens if it breaks or needs a revision for any reason?

You end up spending $25k again?

Depends, in my case the cost is made up of 4 cost components:

Cost of the device
Cost of the anesthesiologist
Cost of the surgeon
Cost of the surgery center

My surgeon gives 3 year warranty on "cost of the surgeon", so revision in that time would not incur that cost. Also, the devices are warrantied by their manufacturer, so if revision is because of device failure then that cost should also be waived/reimbursed. But if none of the above apply then yes the cost will be at least as much as original surgery, if not more.

I read Coloplast Titan OTR is guaranteed for life. I am sure Dr charges are not, but that scares me since I'm 25 days out! OUCH!
