I understand the method of measuring in surgery but I am puzzled about measuring. If patient is a "grower/turtle" not a "shower" then how is calculation of needed cylinders done to assure adequate length and girth? Is penis pumped, an injection given, or just stretched to show accurate erection length available? Seems this would be very critical as to guarantee cylinders reach into glan as patient gets all length available.
i have watched the surgery videos where the seemingly flaccid penis is laid back and the measuring "sticks" are rather quickly slid into corpora c for measurement. Perhaps I am missing something....and will present this question to surgeon when I meet with him again the 13th.
If OR is as cold as most hospitals are then surgeon better get a good grip of my penis to stretch it.

I've been thinking the same thing. Since I started VED therapy several months ago, when using those damnably painful injections or even the short lived hard-ons I can get with Cialis, I've been blessed to get back all but a half inch of my former glory but to reach that length with a flaccid stretch takes a firm grip and a firmer pull for at least a minute or two to get my "johnny" to relax out to that length. I'll definately talk about it with the Doc before I go under the knife, I just hope that he's willing to be accommodating. It almost seems that many of these implant Docs are wary of changing their set routine out of fear of causing erosions but, aren't they pretty much a thing of the past with inflatable implants? I suppose buckling could also be a concern but it would seem that an implant would have to be greatly oversized in order for that to become a complication. But what the hell do I know?...peace...

Re: measurement during surgery
Well, obviously, I think, these are questions for each of your surgeons. I was a big time grower and a bit of a turtle before surgery, and as reported elsewhere, got great results. I'd say, from reading accounts here, lots of guys were big time growers, and most got great results. You can plug the terms 'grower' or 'turtle' into the search functions here and find plenty of others too. Some guys do not get great results. So, the moral for me is make sure you find a top notch surgeon. For me, that included the ability to exchange references from multiple patients.
During my pre-surgery research, I became convinced that length measurement was not as scientific as many portray it to be. There was an article published a couple of years ago about "NLMT", or New Length Measurement Techniques. Use the search function here to find references. I could only read it, however, by paying for a copy. The takeaway from reading it, for me, was that the article identified several specific judgement calls the doc can make when measuring, which totaled 4cm. I was also quite sure there are other judgement calls the surgeon makes. I concluded that there were potentially more than 5cm (2 inches) worth of judgement calls a surgeon can make in determining the measurement. All the more reason, IMHO, to find a surgeon who really knows what he (or she) is doing.
As an interesting side tidbit, Dr Eid, both in person when I met with him, and on his website, states he prefers a spinal anesthetic over a general because with a spinal you will get some engorgement of the penis which helps with measuring during surgery. However, he is the only surgeon I've ever read about who says this.
I think you will be better off thinking about ways to make your self confident in your surgeon, than trying to second guess what device or specific methods he uses.

Re: measurement during surgery
My doctor said I would retain my stretched length in his office. I stretched a little over 6 inches in the office I came home Dec 6th with about 4 inches I am now 4 weeks later up to about 5 inches. I have only pumped a little,I see him on the 21st I should know a lot more by then.

Okay guys here is my two cents worth. Make sure you let your Dr know your expectations up front dont be shy about it ,,, let him know that you have done your reserch and you expect good results bug him about it every day as I did yes it is nerve racking to him but you need to let him know that you know what is expected. My Dr only has done alittle over 100 implants in a 10 year period and my results are wonderful I should have gotten this done 15 years ago I kid you not!!,,,, but like I said you must communicate with your Dr atleast 3 to 4 times a week letting him know that you are doing your research yes it is obsessive but well worth the outcome. Oh and you must give it time to heal 4 to 6 months,, I used my implant in the first three weeks and it was good and it seems to be getting better and better everytime I used it. I always tell people if you have ED more then 30% everytime you try to have sex and by that I mean your dick just will not get hard or stay hard for me it was about 90% then I would defenitley consider the implant rout as it is a 100% ED fix atleast for me. I wish all of my brothers out there good luck and good health. Nathan AKA tankerman777

Hey tanker man, great post. I have a question for you, how is your size now after the implant? Bigger or smaller than before? Did you have any difficulty with sensitivity or orgasm after your implant?
Early 30s with ED for years from penis enlargement stretching and jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

Yes I did have alittle loss of sansation and orgsm but it has returned it took about 6 weeks to start really having wonderful orgasms again that is why I say you have to give it enough time to heal. As for size I did lose alittle girth but I retained my length. My girth was about 6 inches before implant and now it is 5.5 my length was between 5.5 and 6 inches before and it is the same now so I lost .5 inches in girth whitch my wife says she doesnt notice in fact she says she cant tell any differance. The half inch I lost in girth is a no brainer I would take that trade against ED everytime. My penis gets harder then it ever did before and I dont have to worry about loseing my hardon it surely is a wonderful change to not have ED anymore the only regret like I said is I didnt do this 15 years ago if I did I would have had more woman then I could have handled ,,,, take care brothers.

That is great to hear man! Inspiring to see a young guy with such good results. Did you try pills or injections or whatever before the implant? Also how long does it take you to pump up? Are you able to do it 'sneaky' and keep the mood going?

I have a new otr pump coloplast Titian and it only takes 2-3 squeezes to pump up,I don't believe the woman would be aware at all. I use to go to the bathroom with injection noone ever figured it out that I am aware of I did that for over 20 years, this is nothing. Is that wolfpacker like NC STATE? I am in Raleigh NC.
