you're quite right that a lot of sexual intimacy and mutual sexual satisfaction can be had without penetration. I would imagine many of our ancestors had to accept this in old age, and certainly nothing wrong with that.

I've been implanted now for 2.5 years. It completely changed my life- well, at least dating and self-esteem wise. I was implanted the day I turned 37. I had suffered with ED from 32 on. I managed and carried out an active sex life, but I always had to mess with many things and the timing on the dosages had to be just right for it to work long enough etc. I am so grateful to be in my later 30s vs early because of this reason. I wish doctors earlier had taken my complaints more seriously. All I can say is that it was possibly the best decision I have made yet in my life. Although I am not married or with a family yet, it has certainly opened up many more options. I realized I had missed intercourse not only for the pleasure of the partner but for myself. So, the surgery and recovery wasn't easy or cheap and I will be paying bills for likely up until my next surgery in 10 years (knock on wood), but i regret nothing about what was done.

It brought back hope and life to me. It's not perfect but nothing is. Just my little experience.

I’m starting to think that I have been too focused on penetration, when there are other ways to have intimacy and to achieve orgasm. I’ve had limited success with injections combined with Cialis and constriction bands. It gets me there, but it really takes away the fun; it feels like work. I started considering an implant again, but the more I read I feel troubled at the thought of losing my natural penis. Evidently, there are noticeable wrinkles or “dog ears” when flaccid, and you can feel the tubing… I just feel getting an implant is giving away your natural penis for a prosthetic device. How is that different from incorporating a dildo into your sex life with your partner? Plus, many men need a revision in 7-10 years… I went to a men’s health clinic, and they put me on TRT therapy, which did not address the underlying issues, and did nothing for my erectile dysfunction. I am now off of TRT… I’ve had many disappointing experiences with urologists, and now with this men’s health clinic, which charged a fortune…

I’m posting because I’d like to hear the thoughts of others and their input. I might also post in another forum if that is deemed more appropriate… thank you all in advance…

Aslanglobal,

Thank you for your response. I did read some of your earlier posts on the implant forum where you expressed some doubt and unhappiness with the surgery. I assume that now that is in the past and you are content? It seems like it took a while for you to get used to the implant…

I suffered for 10 years with shots pills and being ripped off by these men’s clinics and finally after researching the whole situation I made a call to Dr Hakkey who did an amazing job with my implant since I had had a pancreas and kidney transplant also he had to work around
Best decision I ever made and wife has been very happy with results
Do your research and find a top implant doctor
Pump, pills and Trimix no longer work
Surgery November 7, 2017 Dr Hakky. AMS CX

Wow, you went ahead with an implant, even after those transplants. Very inspirational, bless you! (I had brain surgery for a, thankfully, unruptured, but swollen, brain aneurysm in January. Surviving that is what has got me thinking about going forward with the implant, which scares the heck out of me.)

Some people are very nervous about getting an implant, maybe most. I would say dont do it if your unsure. For me, my mental state was, what if the worst case happens and i couldnt have sex again…. Pre op i was thinking I could give two shits, sex is so bad now i would be better off knowing i couldnt have sex vs hoping on that 20 percent chance it would be sorta enjoyable, i was done/over being intimate.

Now post implant… its by far the nicest thing i have ever dont for myself, being a dad you put the needs of others before your own desires, this was 100 percent the right choice for me.

I would take the implant over my 18 year old dick, orgasms are way stronger and there is no rush with sex now, i can relax and perform every time. Such a weight lifted off my mind. Thanks FT!

All I can say is I had one for 5 yrs, coloplast titan, it has failed me this year in March, I have been depressed and surfing the Internet on trying a new device, new surgeon's and so on, believe me it will become a part of you and you will enjoy it. Can't wait for the revision, with a AMS lgx, we are shooting for mid June, good luck with your 1st one.

Sorry to hear your implant failed. But good to hear you enjoyed it. Wondering why you change to an LGX
