Implant May 2024 - Dr. Clavell

Postby Backpacker69 » Tue May 28, 2024 1:44 pm

Hey everyone, long time Frank Talk lurker here. I sit here anxiously in the Hilton Medical Center lobby writing this post less than 24 hours before my procedure. I nearly stayed anonymous but realized how helpful this forum is and I’m sure this post will find another young man out there in shoes similar to mine. I hope this post is there for them like the Frank Talk forum was for me in my early planning days all the way up to the day before surgery. Without this forum, I wouldn’t have pursued the implant nor found Dr. Clavell down in Houston Texas and for that, I am very grateful to you all. I made the trek to Houston from Wisconsin as I am a young man (27 years old) who wanted to overcome my ED with one of the best implant doctors in the country, Dr. Clavell. My ED started at the age of 21 after a girl landed on my penis while aggressively riding. After that, pumping and pills were needed to maintain a solid erection and they worked very well.. until they stopped working at the age of 25. I tried, sildenafil, tadalafil, and levitra. None of which produced an erection hard enough for penetration. I believe my ED is a venous leak caused by that impact injury as well as bathmate pumping and pills making it worse over time. This has left me with studying the Frank Talk forum and all of Dr. Clavell’s videos for a year and a half. In early 2024, I decided to make the jump and scheduled with Dr. Clavell for the end of May. Dr. Clavell, Maddie, and the rest of his team have been class and a pleasure to work with over these past few months. I am truly blessed to have found him and his practice through this site.

Other than ED, I am a very healthy man who swims miles a week alongside lifting weights very often and backpacking/camping when I can. I actually have a backpacking trip to the Rockies booked in August and am hopeful I can make it as I will be two and a half months out from my IPP surgery. The thought of no exercise for over a month scares me as it has been my safe haven during ED but I am here for new beginnings and look forward to getting back in the gym with a new, healthy, and functional penis.

My current erection measurements are pumped: 7.5L - 6.2G (bathmate and pills, I stopped these due to pressure on testicles and have resorted to Angion method (AM2/AM3) for penis exercises. Look it up on Reddit if you haven’t heard of it, it’s great).
Without pumping I’m slightly over 7 inches long and remain just as girthy at 6.2 inches.

I can tell you now that sitting here in this hotel lobby after flying across the country feels very weird, almost as if I’m just going through motions and everything is a dream. I am looking forward to this new lease on life and am anxious but happy to know I am in the hands of one of the nations top urologists.

Good luck to you, just over a year ago I was where you are. Now 16 mos. later I'm VERY happy with how everything went with the help of Dr. Clavell and his staff. I too consider him one of the top implant surgeons in the world, you're in good hands.

Good luck. I wish I felt the same way. I’m six weeks post op and should have a telemed appointment with Dr Clavell to start cycling. Instead, I’m having an in office visit to deal with several post operative complications. I’m stressed and depressed and very concerned. I hope your recovery is way better than mine.

Did you have any post op issues? I have several with Dr Clavell. I hope they are resolved quickly.

No, I had no post-op issues whatsoever. Surgery Wednesday, flew home on Friday, back at my home office desk on Monday. Only used alternating Tylenol and Advil for the first few days. At 4 weeks I was released to cycle and at 5 weeks I was using it as designed (see the reason for the one week delay for intercourse below). ;)

I did, however, have an issue while in surgery and Dr. Clavell handled it on the fly. Unbeknownst to either of us, I had a scar tissue blockage in my left corpora and he was unable to get through it with the dilators. He tried all the tricks going at it from the initial incision, but couldn't get through. The blockage was just below my glans, so he cut into the corpora at that location and removed the blocking tissue and sewed me back up. Then he was able to get the cylinder up into my glans to match the other one. Come to find out after researching online, Dr. Clavell actually authored a white paper on the very technique he used on me.

I'm confident my local Kaiser urologist would have either backed out or made a mess of that situation, he was unimpressive just at my consultation with him.

As you know, every body and every penis is different, I'm sorry to hear you're having issues, but I would say with some surety that you'd be in more trouble with most other surgeons.

Dr. Clavell is great ! He'll meet you in the surgery holding area , ask if you have any questions or concerns, maybe a quick examination ( I had some Peyronie's scarring he wanted to look at ) and He'll go on his way while his surgical assistant preps you and rolls you down the hall to the operating room . Once there you'll be greeted by more of his team ( the nurse anesthetist ) . She ( in my case ) asked a bunch of questions ( allergies, etc ) . I'm not even exactly sure when they administered the anesthesia, all I know is I was waking up a couple hours later , a newly implanted and groggy man . You have to pee before they take you to recovery. If you cant, youll need a catheter . I forget how long they made me stay after surgery ( couple hours I think ) but before you know it they will wheel you out of the hospital to your ride. Your dick will be black and blue , swollen and heavily bandaged . You did it ! It's over ! ED is forever in the rear view mirror. Let the healing and fucking begin. Good luck my future bionic brother.

I am also from Wisconsin and had my surgery with Dr. Clavell on January 2nd thus year. Other than flying I drove down to Houston. The surgery went really well and I wanted to hit the road back home the next day. Dr. Clavell wanted me to stay an extra day. So two days after the surgery I drove home. I had very little pain more what I'd call discomfort. If you do as well as I did, you'll make your trip with no problems. I had an AMS LGX placed and I am really happy with the results. Good luck with your surgery!

Journeyman, both you and Jage have reassured me in many ways while I was in my planning stages of this procedure. Thank you for breaking down the morning of process, I am far less anxious than I thought I was and ready to face the post ED life. I am looking forward to joining the bionic brotherhood and becoming the best version of myself soon!

Happy to see a fellow Wisconsinite implanted by Dr. Clavell. The fact that you drove that distance post procedure is mind blowing and I’m glad you’re doing well! There’s another bionic man coming to Wisconsin soon. Thanks for the wishes.
