MRI with implant revision
Hello to all bionic brothers, as I have written in countless posts the tips hurt and under the glans even more. the doctor said to do an MRI, telling me that he would change it for the sole cost of the prosthesis, with the condition that he would have to find a hospital willing to be able to carry out the revision at no cost, (he said that he wants his patients happy) it doesn't seem true to me, even if I would never have wanted a revision, now I see myself at a crossroads having to accept this revision, hoping that everything goes well, in any case we'll see if it's true, if it's true I'll be the first to speak well, appreciating your effort and interest, at the moment this is my situation and it will not be done until it is done as quickly as possible

I hope everything goes well with you. It will nice if your doctor can get your revision in a hospital at no cost. Will keep following your updates.

Frank, sorry to hear you are possibly facing another surgery but I know you have been unhappy and it is good to hear your doctor is trying to make things better.
Did you already have the MRI? If so did it reveal the cause of your pain?
Also I’m curious what he recommends for the revision. Will it be a shorter Titan to take the pressure off the tips or is he recommending a different brand of implant?

Re: MRI with implant revision
In the business of medicine, there are typically separate entities for Dr, hospital, and pharmacy. They don’t tend to cooperate with each other across financial liabilities. I had my original surgery cancelled at the last second due to an emergency which required the operating room. The Dr and hospital did not charge me, but as I had already been administered the pre operative drugs, I was charged a significant fee by the pharmacy. My insurance company would not pay as there was no accompanying procedure against which to code the claim. I eventually had to pay.

hello FinallyBionic, yes, I will do the revision in the hospital as soon as it finds a place somewhere, I will have to pay for the new device, I will put an ams cx, since I had a bad time with the titan, also the doctor said that ams uses more rounded tips , since the problem has been the tips since day one

thanks Flounder, yes, I have already had the MRI, the doctor said he didn't comment, he just said that he wants his patients happy and that he will change it for me by paying only for the device, obviously I will put an ams cx since the titan gives me it was annoying, also ams has more rounded tips, now I have to wait until it finds a place in a hospital to do the revision, I hope I don't remain forgotten

Re: MRI with implant revision
I think your only issue is oversizing, and both AMS and Titan would be good for you. If you got the correct size, you may have loved your Titan. In the revision, the doctor may put a cylinder 1/2cm shorter than the one you currently have.
I don't have a Titan implant. I chose AMS for its flaccid look, and I feel comfortable with it.

Agree - liked everything about titan, but the AMS Is more natural appearance and feel. pump is heavier but easier to deflate for sure.
Radical Prostatectomy in 2015; failed pills, straight to Coloplast Titan in 2019 by Dr. Valenzuela in NYC, Replaced with AMS 700 CX in 2022 by Dr. Darshan Patel in San Diego, CA. Wish I jumped to an implant even before prostate cancer!

thank you for your precious contribution jwitten567, I'm living with titan but it was never love, I cursed myself the day I did it, the pums hurt/uncomfortable/self-inflating/annoying dog ears, I was oversized, this situation leads to inflate a lot otherwise it bends, inflating a lot the tips hurt, if the tips are too far forward, under the glans instead of finding the final non-inflatable tip you find the cylinder that inflates, this situation leads to pain under the glans because there is the final part of the inflatable cylinder, moreover it causes pain to the shaft because inflating too much and the prosthesis being larger also causes the shaft to hurt, it becomes a hard rubber dildo, I wanted to ask you jwitten567 if your penis with ams cx is more rounder than titan

Re: MRI with implant revision
Chiming in here. Titan has its cons: tubing, auto-inflation, dog ears (not sure if permanent or till cylinders get soft), and more rigid in flaccid state. On the other hand, AMS has a bigger pump and the corners and the shape with sharp edges aren't comfortable.
Regarding the shape, Titan makes the shape less round because it uses bigger diameter than AMS, resulting in more girth.
The choice is more about personal preference.
With the issues that you have with Titan, I think you will enjoy AMS. Good luck!
