Malleables

Postby tobenormalagain » Tue Jun 11, 2024 6:53 am

I have an upcoming surgery date in July at UVA for an MPP. I am a healthcare provider and after extensive research and consideration, I am going to be implanted with either a Boston Scientific Tactra or a Coloplast Genesis. A Rigicon MPP was my first choice but it is currently unavailable as an option at my university’s surgery center. That said, there seem to be very, very few real patient reviews on the internet and even here. I would love to hear from men with one of these implants or even a malleable. Please, be respectful here by not telling me how wonderful your inflatable prosthesis is, how malleables are old technology, how most men don’t experience any complications with their IPPs…. Any advice, experience or thoughts here would be most appreciated.

Malleables are excellent if reliability is your main focus. Based on my consultations with multiple surgeons, all malleable brands are reliable, so you can't go wrong with any of them.

Some people choose based on their surgeon's brand experience and recommendations.

Genesis 2004 release (long standing track record)
Rigi10 2019 release
Tactra 2019 release

You can refer to posts by the following individuals for REAL WORLD insights:
- For Rigi10: mbambo, easymoney
- For Tactra: ready2go
- For Genesis: thedriver

I received this information from Dr. Paulo in Brazil, a malleable expert with 6,000 surgeries over 25 years. He confirmed that the differences are based on the properties of metals and alloys. According to him, the unique qualities of each arise from their core reinforcements: silver (Genesis) , stainless steel (Rigi10), and nitinol (Tactra).

i had the tactra implanted in india . the post operation recovery was a breeze . i only had sensitive glans for a month . i was given pain pills and some for inflammation . and anti biotics, . the hard part was waiting 30 days to exercise
i only had bruising color that lasted a short while . no swelling. infections or pain.
concealing it is not a issue in normal clothes . in wet swim trunks ,its like a shower not a grower . when its down its not as long as when standing up while on my back.
its stiff ,hard 24/7 . and works great .
the one issue is loss of girth from the damage to the spongy tissue . that can be avoided with the right technic but i have no clue if any doctor uses it .
i didnt come across that info until after i had mine implanted of course .
thats the one thing i think you should ask about .

from a implant web site "To preserve as much of the corpora cavernosa as possible, it is important to.... minimize the use or not use of dilators..... during the penile prosthesis implantation process. The use of dilators to perform prosthesis implants harms the corpora cavernosa, which can result in loss of residual penile filling quality.

The conservation of the cavernous bodies as possible is essential so that the patient can enjoy the residual penile filling that he had before the implantation of the prosthesis. For this preservation, instead of inserting the penile prosthesis in the middle of the penis, it is necessary to make a separation between the cavernous bodies and the tunica albuginea where the prosthesis is implanted.

Thus, when the patient has a cerebral erotization and penile vasodilation, he will be able to enjoy the filling and heating of the penis closer than he was able to before undergoing an implantation process.

After creating the space between the tunica albuginea and the corpora cavernosa, a malleable or inflatable penile prosthesis is inserted, which aims to provide the vertical rigidity necessary for the sexual act.
