My doctor implants both AMS & Titan per the patient’s preference based on his own research. I asked him for advice on this. He said that given i have a very vigorous sex life he recommended the Titan. I just followed his advice and went with it. Works as advertised. I do have the slight “krinkle” at the base of my penis when flaccid. Characteristic of the Titan for many, but not all, users. Doctor said most guys adapt to this in short order. I have, and frankly, they’re so subtle an outside observer wouldn’t notice. Not mine anyway. I mitigate by giving it a couple of small pumps to remove the krinkle normally. I have a bulge flaccid now where i didn’t have one before. I like it! AMS guys tend to report a more natural flaccid, and most guys seem happy with their erections as well. Honestly, i’m not so sure there ever really is a “right choice”. My doctor says it’s choosing between a Lamborghini or a Ferrari.

Pain is a genuine concern we all have. Even the toughest amongst us cringe at the thought. Especially if you watch surgery videos. I can report that apart from some pain immediately after waking up in recovery, which was attended to within literally 5 minutes, i only ever needed 1 pain pill and a few Tylenol. No acute pain. Soreness is more like it and was quite endurable and manageable. I used a donut cushion for about 3 weeks. Takes awhile for your your scrotum to get used to the new neighbor. Now, i have no pain whatsoever. Well, except cycling to full stretch, but that’s just rehab. Gets better everyday.

@ThailandBound. Thank you for your great response and information. As you said, I'll be asking the doctor for his advice and will be interested in his thoughts about implant choices I love your journal. Were you able to increase in length and girth after surgery? Good to know the pain and soreness is quite manageable. I'll be posting back here after my appointments and surgery.

I'll ask about the Titan Touch. Are you happy with the results? Does your erection feel and look natural? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for wishing me successful surgery and a quick problem-free recovery.

Infrapublic implant surgery only takes an experienced surgeon about 30 mins to complete. So,your total sedation time -- pre & post op -- is probably around 45-60 mins max.

Recovery time for infrapubic surgery is generally only 3 weeks -- from the time of surgery until you are approved to have sex. This is what happened in my case.

-----------------------------------------------------

I haven't f*cked yet because I'm between f*ck partners but, even though I was approved to begin cycling after 1 wk and started masturbating after 2 wks. I was approved for sex in 3 ks but I don't think I was ready to actually have sex until 4 wks.

My main exercise activity preop was rowing and I still haven't started doing that again yet because of residual tenderness in my left nut but I think I'll be good to start doing that again in a couple of days with the start of the 6th week.

-----------------------------------------------------

As I mentioned earlier, I experienced a lot of scrotal/penile swelling and soreness immediately post op but all of the soreness and most of the swelling is now gone 5 wks post op. However, I never experienced anything that I would call painful.

My doc gave me a 30 day prescription of Norco that I never used. I took/take 2 - 500mg tabs of Tylenol w/ 3 - 200 mg tabs of Ibuprofen only "occasionally" when I felt/feel more than the usual discomfort.

-----------------------------------------------------

I am extremely happy with the results. My dick feels and operates the same way it did pre op. My recovery could not have been quicker nor less uneventful. I had "concerns" (of course) but they were for naught. Everything has turned out fine.

My dick doesn't look "normal" for me anymore because I was a "grow-er" preop and now I'm a pretty obvious "show-er." Pre op my flacid dick wouldn't hang more than 4"L x 5"G. Post op flacid it now hangs 5"L x 5.75"G.

Erect size is the same pre/post op at 5.75" L but erect girth immediately increased from 5.5" to 6."

-----------------------------------------------------

I don't have any personal experience with the AMS.

There are many men here who got an AMS and are happy with it. There are also many men who got a Titan and are happy about it as well. On the other hand, there seem to be more men here who report problems w/their AMS than there are men who report problems w/their Titans.

Also, FWIW, my doc told me that he specifically swtiched from the AMS to the Titan because of the problems that his patients were having with the AMS. That doesn't mean there aren't any problems w/the Titan too but there were enough problems w/the AMS for my doc & his patients that he chose to only use the Titan now.

Apart from that, one commonly reported difference between the AMS & Titan is the fact that the Titan will immediately provide you with more GIRTH post-op than will the AMS. My erect girth increased about 9% immediately post op from 5.5" to about 6".

-----------------------------------------------------

Those who have an AMS say that they think it looks "natural" to them, meaning (I believe) that it looks close to the same way both pre and post op in terms its thickness and the way it hangs/bends.

I don't think anyone w/a Titan can say that because I believe that the Titan cylinders are thicker both in diameter (which increases girth) and in material (which doesn't not allow my dick to hang (or bend) the way a normally flacid dick would. This is not necessarily a "bad" thing but it is "different."

What I've got now is a pretty chubby show piece. It takes a bit of adjustment to figure out how to stow it and no matter what I do (if you're looking) an impression of it will show thru my pants, which again isn't necessarily a "bad" thing.

The only concern I'll have is when I start going to my clothing optional club again this summer but I don't socialize much there and generally just lay by myself in a corner to get a tan. So, I shouldn't attract much attention.

LOL! ;)

-----------------------------------------------------

If you are considering switching to the Titan, there are 2 models of the Titan to consider: 1) the older "Classic" and 2) the newer "Touch."

My doc only uses the newer Touch model which is considered an "improvement" over the Classic.

The "problems" with the Classic include pump noise (people here who have one say it is very loud) and the kinking of the tubing at the pump. The Touch is very quite when pumping and the insertion of the tubes into the pump was changed from straight across to a triangular pattern to prevent kinking.

The pump on the Touch was also redesigned to allow you to press the deflate button for only 1-2 secs to fully deflate the implant. You'll have to hold the deflate button down continually to deflate a Classic.

However, in my experience, it is still better to hold the deflate button of my Touch down continually while deflating most of the implant but when I do release it the button I can still squeeze some more saline out of the implant before I stop deflating it.

These issues only matter if you decide to switch to the Titan and if your doc doesn't care whether he implants the Classic or the Touch. In that case, you should consider the differences and choose the one you like best.

-----------------------------------------------------

Again, good luck!

How is scarring with the infrapubic procedure? That's a bit of a concern as I don't have a lot of hair to cover a scar.

All good reads, I have the Titan but it has had a flat, tubing gave up, but when it worked it was great, I do have the dog ears with it and after 30-45 mins of sex it does get sore there and it botherd my wife as well, the tubing also kinda accumulated on the lower left side of my shaft, which also can get sore, either way it was worth it and I miss it, I have been online reading, researching about surgeons, Ipp's, Mpp's, and the different mfgs as well as reading forums. I am scheduled for a AMS 700 LGX on the 25th of this month, which is supposed to give you both length and girth, the one thing that I would have liked to be included in the revision is the tenacio pump that AMS has come out with, but talking with a company rep only a select few in the country are allowed to use them and didn't tell me who they were. Good luck on your journey, I hope you enjoy it in a few months as so many others have.
