hello, I had a penile implant about 5.5 months ago and I want to go to the dentist, there is a risk, the surgeon said ok, but I want your opinion if anyone has had a tooth removed black stamp after from a penile implant.

Don't know what removing a tooth has to do with your implant ..different part of the body ... lol Unless you got a bad infection after the implant see no issue pulling took unless it is infected and I'd be more worried about it spreading to my heart. If your going to a good dentist he will make you take antibiotics for a week or so before pulling it..

Any time you have dental work after getting ANY implant, HIP, KNEE, DICK what. ever, take 4 amoxicillin 1 hr before procedure. That includes cleaning. I still do it 6 years after IPP and Hip.

I wasn’t told to take any antibiotics to have teeth cleaned or a tooth extraction after my bionic dick install.

But for my knee replacements, the doctor said you have to take 4 each amoxicillin capsules 1 hour before a tooth cleaning or any dental work for two years, because teeth cleaning releases bacteria into your blood stream and can go straight to your knees because there is lots of blood flow due to healing.

I would be curious though to ask my urologist, if they have ever told an implantee to take antibiotics for dental cleaning.

Original post is a very interesting question. I have had an implant since I was around 58 years old and I go for teeth cleaning every six months. Never have taken anti biotics. But I do know of a person who had just had a knee replacement and she got an infection on her knee, almost lost her life, and it was all because of a root canal she had done. She had to have the knee prosthetic removed and replaced with a second after the infection was gone. Took several months for complete healing. But I had heard that any time you have any kind of a prosthetic recently done, you have to tell the nurse or doctor who ever is interviewing for many different types of procedures. I also heard that you have to take anti biotics before you have a colonoscopy. But not sure about that because I had one done four years ago and I told the nurse about the implant I had, and she did not know about taking any antibiotics. So they never gave me any, I had the procedure done with no problems.
