Hello All,
A little of my history.
Radical prostatectomy, August 2021 (lost some length there)
Then Peroni’s disease kicked in ( lost more length there)
Previously, I never took measurements, but I suspect I was about 6 inches in length.
Implant performed by one of the top 3 or 4 doctors recommended by this group.
I had my implant done mid June 2024 and the first day was pure hell, due to the pain.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have taken my pain med BEFORE I was discharged from the hospital.
Other than the first day, the pain actually was not too bad at all.
I was given tramadol as a pain med, which I stopped taking after the second day, because it caused nausea.
My implant is a Titan Coloplast, but I am not actually sure of the exact size. The notes from the surgery say each corporal measured 20 cm and bilateral leak tests were performed and were negative. The appropriate Titan three-piece Penile prothesis was selected. And that is all the report stated. There was no mention of rear tip extenders.
Went back to the doctor on Thursday 27 June 2024, to get my staples removed, and received a demonstration on how to pump up the implant.
When the doctor pumped up the implant, I felt a lot of pain in my penis, probably on the pain scale 7 out of 10.
I was told to use both hands to pump the bulb, then to grab my penis at the base and bend it to the right, left, upward, and downward, then try to pump some more. Sort of a penis stretching exercise.
The doctor & staff were able to get three or four more pumps in each time they manipulated my penis. They did this exercise a total of 4 to 5 times. Then we pressed the release valve to deflate. To be honest, this implant cycling was painful.
The first time I tried to cycle on my own, I was ready to cry… lol
The pump seemed very stiff, It kept wanting to slip away from my grasp. I was having a miserable time trying to inflate. After a few days , I’m getting the hang of it. So far I have cycled once or twice per day and after day three (tonight )I think I’m finally getting the hang of this. But the penis pain is still there.
The overall pain is starting to subside but I am still very black and blue.
Other than what the doctor described as diaper rash / burning on my scrotum from the surgery, the pain is very tolerable. So I’ve been placing a diaper rash cream on my scrotum to resolve that pain.
So the take aways and questions are below:
1. Day 1 The pain is about an 8 out of 10.
2. Take your pain med before you get discharged from the hospital, and tried not to let the pain get ahead of you.
Questions for the brotherhood……
1. How long before the pain in the penis during penile inflation goes away? And is this pain part of the normal process?
2. Any of you experienced this diaper rash on your scrotum?
3. The doctor told me to cycle once a day for the next year, after that time frame, my Size should be back to normal???
Thanks for your time and response ……..

1- My pain was probably a 5 out of 10 when first pumping at 2 weeks, and would ache for many hours afterwards . Doing that and the bending exercises I think I stayed sore most of the time. By the 3-4 month it was noticeable better and would only be sore for a couple hours afterwards. By 8-10 months would only be slightly uncomfortable during pump and bending and not sore afterwards. Bury the year mark I only pump for sex and masturbation, so 3-4 times a week with no discomfort at all.
2- I had a slight rash and seems like all my skin in the surgical area actually pealed like a mild sunburn afterwards. I asked Dr and he said it was most likely a slight reaction to the antibiotic scrub they used prior to surgery. Never was uncomfortable enough to treat with anything.
3- I pumped and did the perito exercises twice daily for about 30 minutes per day for the first year and yes I got all my size back plus a little xtra girth. Time and patience will heal most all things. It’s the best decision I have ever made as far as ED is concerned! Loving it more every day!
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!

"1. How long before the pain in the penis during penile inflation goes away? And is this pain part of the normal process?"
.... For most, anywhere from 3-6 months
"2. Any of you experienced this diaper rash on your scrotum?"
Sorry, I went the infra- pubic route. I don't know.
"3. The doctor told me to cycle once a day for the next year, after that time frame, my Size should be back to normal???"
Once a day? I don't agree. This needs to be done 2-3x's a day. At least.
I was exactly 6 inches pre-op, after my surgery I was 5.5. 90 days later I was again 6 inches.
Of course I cycled like maniac to get this back. (4x's a day -25 minutes per session)
Heads up, I found the cycling to be the most painful part of this whole procedure, bending your unit around
every direction when it still is sore is NOT fun in the slightest.
There were times I had tears welling up in my eyes(No kidding) and I don't cry easy.
But I pushed through-every single time.
The temporary pain was more than worth it in the end.
Best of luck.

Thanks for your response...Today I am officially 3 weeks into my journey, and have been cycling for about a week. The pain is still there, but it is not that much of a shell shocker a week later. I appreciate the support and look forward to trying to use this thang again. It looks like three phases to this:
1. Phase 1 = 3-4 months
2. Phase 2 = 6-8 months
3. Phase 3 = 12+ months
Thanks again,

HikerMan,
Guess I will need to get used to the pain, when cycling for the next 3-6 months. Even though I read through many threads before I began the journey, it never hit home until the implant was actually performed.
The diaper rash or whatever it is, has started to subside after a week now.
I got a seamstress tape today and will take some penis measurements and document everything.
Will be increasing my cycle time to at least twice a day now.......... and see how much pain I can take.

The healing and the size return all takes place so gradually that you don’t really realize progress from a daily or weekly basis…you just realize one day that hey! It’s getting better! And I tried not to measure but once a month or so, and it also came back so slow that it was hard to see gains unless it was like an 1/8” per month so just hang in there. My pain was so little that I only used one pain pill the day after surgery to make the 350 mile ride home in the passenger side of our car with my lovely wife bringing me home from Dallas and that turned out to be unnecessary. All I used was ibuprofen and Tylenol. My swelling was very minimal and I iced a lot the first week or so. Sounds like you’re having a totally normal recovery. Hang in there and just keep on keeping on! Should be able to start using that thing soon! Enjoy but don’t expect fireworks the first few times, that’s going to be a little painful but will also get much better with time.

Re: I’m two weeks into my implant
The guys answered well here and have more time and experience than me.
My biggest challenge was discomfort from the dog ears, which has more or less gone now after 4 months.
The underneath of my penis from the scar and upwards was numb, and now the sensation is coming back higher up the shaft. Hopefully, it could all get back to normal (I massage that area daily).
After 4 months, lots of size is back, and I can be rock hard for an hour or more without any discomfort at all. It's great!
I could not be any happier at this stage.
Since ED 25 years ago or so; this is by far the best thing I have done for my dick.
Follow what the guys have done here, be patient, and celebrate every small step forward. And, finally--enjoy that anytime, anywhere for however long 'boner'

ncjag24 wrote::shock: How was “staple removal”?
For me, the staples were removed one week post-op, and were a lot less painful than I had expected.
ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.
Re: I’m two weeks into my implant
Who were your doctors? I'm in the Dallas area.
