I am texting a lady on a dating site and she wants to know why guys are so hung up about getti.ng an erection. In my case it was a mental thing. I did not feel like a man without my erection. My answer is that an erection provides self esteem and a positive feeling about myself. At 71 and a 20 year cancer survivor I feel better about myself with what morning wood that I occasionally experience. Pumping up to an erection with my VED creates a MUCH better feeling of self esteem.. Although artificially induced, the “hard on” is out there for my wife and I to see and enjoy.

To a fair degree I agree with Txagq8. Other than that: my wife like an erect dick. The erection makes the nerve ending come alive. I can't get off flaccid, it's 98% impossible. I just emailed my Dr. to let her know a couple med changes I hoped for. This is what I said.
1) Guys with full functioning penis and people that do not have a penis have no clue what this is like.

I got hung up about it simply because I felt that something was wrong if I couldn't get it up. For years I was proud of my erection and how good we both felt when we used it. Then, age set in and health as well and I was sort of embarrassed. Once I got the nerve up to address the problem AND talk about it, things changed.
