Malleables revisited
Re: Malleables revisited
For what it is worth Dr Carrion in Tampa Fl is my surgeon. I have had 2 Rigicon implanted by him in the past year. He told me he was the largest implanter of mallabble implants in the US and he only does about 50 a year compared to 100's of the IPP"s
Re: Malleables revisited
I don't know how to make a new subject post on here perhaps someone else can do it. I think it would be great if we had a "Show & Tell" section dedicated to nothing but members willing to show and tell and there location. I for one have seen one IPP in person but me having a Rigicon mallabble no one else has seen or felt one in person. I'm willing to post photos like thedriver of the mallabble just not sure how. Knowledge is power and a Dr. not giving you choices on what type or brand of implant to use takes away your power.

Nice. He is featured on Rigicon's YouTube channel.

Re: Malleables revisited
Yes and the other dr. from india is one of the leading implanters in India ....who went from doing Rigicon to doing the new Indian made silicone implant which he personally offers a 10yr warranty on ..
Re: Malleables revisited
The Shah malleable implant, manufactured in India, is not new. The current iteration has been in production since 2008. Dr. Gupta, featured in that video, now implants both the Shah and Rigicon.

In total agreement easymoney! Even on this site, there is a real scarcity of information regarding viable ,treatment options for men suffering from ED and desiring a penile implant. When I first became first interested in a malleable implant, I read numerous, misinformed (wrong) comments from men,-i,e 'they're (malleable) reserved for men with limited hand and arm mobility', 'they're (malleable) old and inferior technology', 'they can't be concealed'...and was dismayed and nearly gave up. Thankfully, it was a few vocal and frequent posters here that have/had MPPS and gave honest information and ultimately, helped make my decision. That said, after much research, I went with a Boston Scientific Tactra malleable device and I am so thankful that I did. On a side note and again no hate to our IPP brothers, but would you ever board a new airplane with the same track record of component failure as an inflatable, penile prosthesis? Apples and oranges? Maybe, but I have read account after account of men whose inflatable implants failed immediately after or several weeks following implantation.

Malleable implants are much more likely to erode through your penile tissue over the years. A broken IPP can be replaced; eroded tissue cannot. Malleable have their place but know that there are definite downsides in the long term (more than a year after surgery) with malleable.
Early 30s with ED for years from penis enlargement stretching and jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

Re: Malleables revisited
Hard to find any "real" information on tissue erosion ... most things I have read either the patient has a tissue issue or the implant was over sized putting too much pressure on the implant. I have read about men laying flat on a bed on a pillow masturbating to much putting pressure on the implant causing a failure of the tissue.
Re: Malleables revisited
I agree with wolfpacker.
Average erosion rates from research literature:
Malleable 4.9%
Inflatable 2.2%
https://tau.amegroups.org/article/view/ ... %2C29%2D33).
Everyone should understand the risks and be extremely picky in their choice of surgeon.

Great points. I've heard high volume malleable Indian surgeons mention that factors like prone masturbation, lack of sensation in spinal cord injured patients, uncontrolled diabetes, and improper surgical placement or wrong implant sizing can all contribute to higher rates of malleable implant erosion.
