caverject not working, on to trimix

Postby Rockstar68 » Fri Feb 21, 2014 2:19 pm

About 2 months ago, my VA urologist started caverject injections. He gave the first dose in his office and told me to lie down for 20 minutes. Other than some tingling, nothing happened.
well, doctor sent me home with an injection kit and not a lot of advice. I upped the dosage from .05 to .1 to .2. Still nothing.
after a couple of weeks of this, doctor gave me .40 dosage, concentrated.....according to him.

I read on various websites about trying to get a semi erection before injection. Well, I tried that, along with 100mg viagra. Now, that combination got me somewhere. I was probably about 70 percent erect, but with extreme pain in the shaft and balls area. I tried it again a few days later and met a friend of mine to see if penetration was possible. Well, this time it hurt like hell and it didnt get hard enough for me to penetrate her. The pain was so bad, I had to take a vicodin and put an ice pack on my package.

I called my doctor and he said that he had never heard of pain from caverject....WTF?

anywho, he suggested trimix, but stated that VA wouldnt pay. He said he would write the script, but it would be out of pocket.

does anyone think the trimix will work?

My uro doesnt seem to know anything. Everything I have learned so far has been from the web.

caverject is notorious for aching with some guys...

Trimix, on the other hand contain an ingredient that eliminates the pain. I have used it for over 3 year, and NEVER had an ache or pain from it.

Depending on how big a dose you will need, cost is probably not even a factor: I inject 3 units (same as .03 cc) I pay $95 for 5 ML (500 units).... That is way less than $1. per shot.... your mileage may vary .

My recommendation is GET THE TRIMIX.... ( I would be curious to know what formula your doc prescribed.

Good Luck !!!

Bill,

I will definitely try the trimix and I'll let you know what the dose is. I won't be back to the doctor for a few weeks to pick up the script though.

I am just amazed at how little the VA doctor knows about ED. When I first went in to see him, he asked how long I had ED and I told him about 10 years, but it was treatable with viagra. He told me "well, we can try caverject and if that doesn't work, you can get an implant, but the VA won't pay for it". I asked him, "is that it"? and he said it was.

I've read a lot about people saying to massage the penis after the injection, to try taking viagra with the injection, etc. When I asked my doctor, he had never heard about any of those things. When caverject didn't work, I asked him about another alternative and he casually mentioned trimix. I said of course we should try it, why didn't you mention it before? So, not sure what his problem is, but he is the only urologist at the VA and not even close to an expert on ED.

I find it odd that you have to pay for trimix out of your pocket. I'm retired military, 5 years air force, 18 years army national guard. My urologist tipped me off that my Tri Care for life medical coverage will pay for my Trimix. Glad that it does, is well over $100 bucks. Somebody s making a profit.

Will be seeing my doctor next week. At first the Trimix worked fine, 50 units got a 2 hour hard on. Now, 6 months later, it's 90 units and a 1 hour max erection that isn't as good as I had before. People tell be about a Supermix, claims it can raise the dead . We will see
