It’s a process for sure! First few weeks are rough. I had sex at the end of week 3 and it was very uncomfortable and very sore afterwards. By 2-3 months it was maybe a little uncomfortable during and maybe a little sore for 1/2 day afterwards. By 4-6 months it really starts to feel normal….. almost natural. By 8-10 months it’s amazing and you’re getting totally used to it and it’s just part of your body at this point. You’ll read a LOT about how do I hide the shower…. This thing is big when flaccid….. and a thousand other comments about how it’s a shower and it don’t get small anymore. I’ve stated a dozen times it’s a matter of perspective. You now have a full size shower. It takes time to adjust to this. Every person that sees your shower thru your pants is not going to think you are walking around with a hard on! By a year you rarely even think about it. Other than admiring it when you’re naked!! lol. It’s a journey not a race. After 10-11 years of pills and 16 months of shots I was at my wits end and it was a welcome issue to have a big dick most of the time and one that I could make hard as a rock any time I want it to be. Read on here and find the journals of dozens of people who tell exactly how it was. Good luck and hang in there… it’s up to you if you want to hang limp or hang proud!!! lol.

So just to get an understanding when you empty your cylinder's you still have a some what erect dick?

Just the rigidity of the cylinders. So yes it might hang at 4:30 where it hung at 5:30 before. But biggest difference is that it’s 5-1/2” long now when flaccid compared to shriveled up maybe 3” before. If I squeeze it and bend while deflating it will get completely flat and looks strange but hangs straight down but I always leave a little in it and sometimes add a pump or two to get it to look more natural and feel more comfortable. Too rigid when flaccid is definitely not a problem! At least since the 11-12 month timeframe until now.

Being nervous before any surgery is normal. The implant was my first surgery as an adult at 68 years old, and nervous didn't come close to describe what I was feeling. Recovery was tough for me, but by six months post all was well. Now close to five years out it has been great to maintain that close intimate relationship with the wife.

Everyone thank you, you have given me some good information. I plan to ask the Doc what you all suggest. I am in Michigan if anyone else has experience here that would be great. I am thankful and a little overwhelmed, But like a few of you have said I am gonna do my best and try to solider on.....

I included a lot of photos, including my current flaccid state, which you were asking about. I won't say it's an easy journey, and it has felt surreal most of the time, but like others say, it is worth it in the end. Rider mentions admiring it... and I have to admit I do that from time to time.

So Go Figurer my Dr is on Vacation until after next week. I did hear back from one of his associates who told me they have me scheduled for a Boston Scientific AMS. Not knowing this from any other could anyone tell me if this is a good device or not?

Boston Scientific AMS is one of the top 2. There’s that and coloplast Titan which I have. Thru tons of research and readin on here for years they are both great products. If you have any curving most Drs would suggest Titan as it’s a little more rigid. But don’t let that fool you both will get much harder than you ever got before. The AMS has a reputation for being softer when flaccid. I’m sure it is but after 12 months my Titan is very soft. It also is said to stretch out more than a Titan which might give you a slightly shorter shower when flaccid. If and when I have a revision I’ll go to Clavel in Houston and will listen to his suggestion as to which one to go with. I was sold on Titan for the xtra rigidity… but I can see the benefit of being softer when not in use. Let’s face it, your flaccid probably 99.5% of the time.

I have had the AMS 700 CX twice now ( long story on that ) and my next one I'm due to get soon will be the AMS 700 LGX. From what I've read on here the biggest setback for the Titan is the dog ears and maybe tubing issues. In my case 2 device failures in less than a year ( first leak in cylinder, second I believe the connector from the pump to reservoir separated ). I can't say anything on the Titan, but the CX gets extremely hard when fully pumped up ( so hard at first it would hurt from the stretch ) and it basically felt like I had two steel rods inside and felt like I could hammer nails if needed. I think with either Titan or AMS you're going to end up with something that's much harder than any erection you've ever had.

That was my thinking when I chose the LGX.
Of course I want it hard when pumped up, but realistically, it's flaccid most of the time.
I think I made the right choice. I enjoy seeing it grow when pumping up, the rigidity is great, and it just seems quite close to my natural dick when flaccid.

Well Thank you everyone for some good advice. My Doc is supposed to be back On Monday. Hoping he returns my call so we can talk.. So just curious I have seen a number of people mention that they had to have re dos. Is this a common occurrence? I know what the literature says but how long can I reasonable expect before I need to worry about getting a replacement?
