Hey guys... I'll be having my procedure in about 3 weeks, so I'm in the midst of prepping. I came across these vasectomy underwear on Amazon. Basically done briefs with a pouch in the front containing an ice pack. You guys that had the implant already, think it would have helped?

From my recent experience, implant Coloplast Titan Touch 2 week ago, ice, ice,ice is your friend. Understand, all in moderation, you can burn your tender areas with ice very easy.

Agree - doc said ice for 2 days and then switch to heat. I think it helped tremendously with pain and improving the swelling.

Thanks fellas. I guess if it's only gonna be a few days off ice, I'll just get a normal ice pack and save a few bucks.

Try bags of frozen peas. Inexpensive and the bag will mold to your anatomy. Frozen bags of rice work too.
When the incision is fully healed and doc clears you to bathe, a hot bath is wonderful to ease soreness.
Hope all goes well for you.

Those underwear do look good, a little pricey but good. I just used larger gel ice packs over my regular underwear and I would sit in my recliner chair with a blanket and my pain meds.
It probably would have been good to keep the ice pack in place with those underwear, if I wanted to get up and get something. The ice packs definitely helped.
Good Luck Jakerip,

I bought some similar underwear before my surgery, and used them a few times. The pouch helps keep the ice pack in place. I had a hard time keeping ice packs on my stuff, even just sitting, I always had to adjust or hold it in place.
Edit to add: I also kept a couple packs in the refrigerator for when the ice was too cold or too hard to mold around my junk.

Good idea having both available. How long did you guys find you needed the ice?

I think I used ice regularly for the first few weeks, but tapered off between three and six weeks as swelling decreased.
