Inflatable vs Malleable - My Experience with Both & Infection
Re: Inflatable vs Malleable - My Experience with Both & Infection
Thanks for sharing
28, Titan Touch 3/22. Length + girth back. ED all life. Feeling underfilled. Only 6-7 pumps until pump stays depressed. Hardness acceptable but not very strong. Thinking about malleable implant.

Watcher1960 wrote:I’m a little over four weeks out from having a tactra implant. Surgeon has said I can start bending it from its post surgery straight out position. Problem is it won’t stay in a bent position. I can push it down and put on tight clothes, but it is still straining to straighten itself back out. Kind of uncomfortable. I’m not really endowed, so it’s not super noticeable. But I was less to believe pre surgery I’d be able to easily bend it down or up to 90 degrees and then bend it straight out for sex…. Any advice or similar experiences?
i have the tactra . if im in swim trunks or gym shorts , i wear tight boxer briefs and just push it down besides my balls .
Doing activities like bicycle riding tends to make it ride up, [not sticking straight out, and barley noticable .] , so when i get off . i put my hand in my pocket and give a push down again . but in loose fitting cargo shorts i dont bother

Sounds like I'm going to be finally getting the malleable in December. Can't wait to be cutting diamonds with my Tactra! lol
34 years old. ED since age 20 after a bicycle accident. Some luck with pills until recently. Injections worked but were very hit or miss with me. Scheduled for a malleable (Tactra) in December 2024.

You can cut diamonds or use them as warheads on ICBMs.

One question I had - in the days or weeks leading up to the development of your infection, can you think of anything you might have done or been exposed to that could have triggered it in the first place? Particularly messy sex, hot tubs, anything that could have exposed your genital area to unhygienic conditions? I know that by the 4-month mark none of this should really be a concern, but still - thinking back on it (as I'm sure you must have done ad nauseum) did anything come to mind?
Thanks again.
Good question, I have considered this ad nauseum and I do have a theory. In the weeks leading up to the infection I was on oral prednisone, which does have the side effect of lowering your immune system. The bacteria that caused the infection was cultured during explantation and determined to be E. Coli. I believe it was introduced during surgery and grew progressively over the months, but I remained asymptomatic due to my immune system supressing the infection. The oral steroids caused a weakening of the immune system and allowed the infection to run wild.
I shared this theory with Dr. Eid when I was in the hospital, and he told me something interesting that will be useful to everyone here. There was a study conducted where they cultured broken implants during revision surgery and found that 50% of the devices that were removed had detectable bacteria living on them. This means that half of us have a bacterial colony living on our devices right now that is significant enough to show up in a culture, but 99% of those who have the bacteria present do not ever get an infection. The most logical conclusion is that our immune systems are working to supress the bacteria from growing into a full blown infection. Therefore, I think is it important that everyone who has an implant takes active measures to keep their immune systems strong at all times and avoid any type of pharmaceuticals that may weaken your immune system.
I don't know if this is too personal a question, but why were you on oral prednisone, niceguy1, and for about how long were you on it?
Again, thanks for such an important and informative post!
40. Implanted July 5, 2024, by Dr. Andrew Kramer, Urology Associates of Cape Cod. AMS LGX, 21cm cylinders + 2cm RTEs. Idiopathic erectile dysfunction following bacterial infection. Tried pulse waves, Cialis, even spinal injections. Nada.

Niceguy, some time has passed since your surgery in July 2024. How satisfied are you now? Have there been any significant changes in your perception? And how is your day-to-day life with the Genesis malleable implant, especially regarding concealability? Thank you in advance for sharing your valuable experiences.

I figured I would pop on here and give my 2 cents, I'm 8 months post OP, with the Genesis and the wife and I couldn't be happier, finally all sorts of fun without the worry of a leak, infection, pump failure, tubing coming apart, reservoir pain, the list go's on and on when you have had 4 IPP failures and finally get something that is tough enough to get rough with.
For those that don't know my story check out my previous posts along with pic's of the good, bad, and ugly thru out my PP journey.
And I will answer this right now, (no I didn't lose length, still at a solid 7" but I did lose a 1/2 inch of girth, the wifey says all that much easier to gobble it down,,,,,,,,,,,, lol..................

After 4 Titan IPP failures within 4 years I finally wised up and went to the Malleable Genesis 23cm- 13mm implanted 2-1-24 and no regrets so far.
For those that are asking, I'm going to change the wifeys avatar weekly.

Love this! The most tried and true malleable model, currently getting put through the wringer like a crash-test dummy on overtime!
