Recently I went to a urologist and got a Rx for tri-mix. He injected me twice in his office, I came home, and had good erections. I injected myself on Saturday night and had a good one. I thought it could last a little longer, so on Tuesday I increased the dose from 2 units (.20 ml) to 2.2 units. I got an erection, but lost it after about half an hour. I got it back, but it wasn't very good.
Today I injected and got nothing. I can get an erection on my own, so I was surprised that I got nothing. I thought it might be that I was just overdoing the stimulation (I'm by myself for all of these), and wasn't in the mood enough. I called the doc, told him all this, and asked if it could be that my drive just wasn't there today. He said that I should have had some erection, as the medication does it with or without stimulation. If nothing else, it should have at least been "plump".
Any idea what might have gone wrong? I've been putting off having sex with a pretty lady until I can get this dialed in. I was expecting better, not worse.
Thanks for any replies.

Don, you may just have missed the spot. It's been happening to me lately and it drives me crazy.
You'd think after 100 injections, I'd have it dialed in, but it ain't necessarily so.
It may not be recommended, but if you feel absolutely nothing, maybe shoot again on the other side?
I've done it with and without success so if you end up in the ER, don't blame me lol.
Question: do you try to draw some blood when in the cavernosa? Am I spelling that right?

Thanks for the reply, tomas1. I didn't try drawing blood. My doc never said anything about that, although I've seen it mentioned here many times.
I also though I may have hit the wrong spot, but my doc said as long as I hit the corpus tissue that's all that's needed. I'll try drawing a little blood and see if that makes a difference.
I'd really hate to go out with this lovely woman and then have a limp one. I might not get another chance with her.

Don said ", so on Tuesday I increased the dose from 2 units (.20 ml) to 2.2 units."....
Don, 2 units = .02 ml..... 2.2 units - .022 ml
Are you using a 'insulin-style' syringe? If so, each 'Tick" on the syringe = 1 unit....
check with your doctor..... to see exactly how much he injected at his office.

It's the correct syringe, I just didn't use the correct terminology. It was 22 units. The syringe holds 100 units, or 1 ml. It's ticked off in units of .02, with major marks at 10, 20, 30, etc.
I'm going to give it a couple of days, and then try again, watching very carefully how I insert the needle. 90 degrees at 3:00 or 9:00 and all the way in.
I'd sure hate to have this happen before the real action is supposed to start.

Don,
The other technique (which I always use) is to feel how much you have to press the plunger when injecting your Trimix. It should feel about the same pressure as if you were injecting 'into the air'. Then you are in the right spot. And what does that feel like? Well just take a syringe with some water in it and inject into the air a few times in about the same hand/finger orientation as if you were really injecting. That is the amount of pressing you should feel if you are injecting in the corpus cavernosa. If it is really hard to press, it means you are outside ( or even all the way thru and out the other side!) and are injecting into flesh or just bumping into the cavernosa sheath without piercing thru (sheath can be tough).
I've done over 500 injects and never had a miss -- and always 'gauge' the press. If it feels a little too much to press, i dig the needle in some more -- dimpling (since it is a 5/16" needle you almost have to dimple always anyways).
And 9am - 3pm are OK spots .. although 10am - 2pm are a little easier because you can see better (but may have more veins in that area.
Keep on tryin ...

Well, I had an important date today, and didn't get an erection. I thought I'd injected into the proper spot and even pressed the syringe in to dimple.
Very embarrassing.

Don,
That's really sad to have a brother go down in flames like that. The only other thing, if you are hitting the spot ok and injecting the right amount is -- adrenaline.
That is the only thing that could knock down a trimix injection -- or fail to let it start up. So can you gauge your excitedness or nervousness. Is your heart pounding away when injecting? To get an idea on what adrenaline can do: try highway driving after injecting .. or weights .. or aerobic exercise. It'll knock things down some (but usually you would have had an erection to start with pretty quick).
Maybe the Trimix is being swept away too soon somehow? You might consider trying a not too tight ring snapped on at the base that will let blood flow in but not out very much.
And how did the plungerpress feel?? Easy, as if into the air?? Are you jabbing in quickly or working in slowly? I know the doc will always do a deft swift quick stick of the needle -- but he's a professional and we are all doofuses ... I do a slow insert .. first press against skin .. pierce skin .. up to corpus sheath (where you will feel it resist) .. then it gives way as it pierces the sheath and you are then set to inject. It's what I do .. 500+ times without a miss.
Keep practicing I guess...

That's how I do it also. Yesterday, I felt it go through the sheath but didn't draw much blood (usually, it shoots into the syringe). I tried again a little ways away and had the same result. I decided what the hell, I may as well shoot it to see if it feels like it injects freely, and see what happens. The result was fine.
I also liked your explanation of how adrenaline can kill tri-mix. I think that happened to me when I hit a small artery once and really got spooked. That time I got nadda.

Re: erection 3X in a row, then short-term, then none?
I'm sure I just didn't hit the right spot or didn't inject far enough.
I was nervous, as this is only the third time since my divorce 14 months ago, and it was a first date. It didn't help that she had a yippy little dog that was up on the bed with us. It also didn't help that she didn't look like what I was expecting, which threw me for a loop. (She looked good, but just different). I was just off balance.
Being divorced, I only get to test the injections by myself. The only "field trials" are the real dates.
The last injection I tested at home was 24 units. I still could get an erection after two hours, and so put an ice pack on it and took some sudafed.
With travel, hotel, entertainment, etc, these dates are expensive, so I'm wasting a lot of money by not getting a good erection.
