Do you recall the name of the surgeon? I've heard that in Egypt, Dr. Osama Shaeer and Dr. Osama Ghatta are well-known for this. However, it seems the government has strict regulations, requiring thorough documentation of tests and proof that all other therapies have been unsuccessful before approving an implant.
hmm ,i think it was the latter ,i would have to look it up.
HE had a nice clean office and they did a injection test to see what size i was .
That was all good . But then the argument over what I wanted and i told him ipps have malfunctions , etc . he looked me straight in the face and said ; no not anymore .never blah blah .more arguing after that , but he gave in and said ok , so a rigi10 malleable it is .
After that,it crossed my mind that he possibly could be unconcerned with the out come due to him not getting what HE wanted . Ok ,not very likely .but then we were directed across the street to the hosital there ,
And we stood at one counter , being ignored ,my wife who was with me got fed up and ;said HEY! We are waiting ! etc .
first, the people at the desk said ; no , we don't do those here .
Now im like wtf is this ? This doctor sends his clients over here and has no affiliation with the hospital or agreement with the various tests that need to be done ? Eventually, a person with a good disposition stepped in and brought us back into a waiting room jammed packed with patients waiting to be seen. Another surly dude took our papers , never once looked our way or asked one question and put the papers in a pile .i could go on ,but its late now and its clear we would be there all night if we got seen at all. i just ran out of bullsh.t run around paitence and walked out .
the next day the doctors' secretary called and asked why we didn't come back .
me ; really? the hospital has no idea about anything to do with your operation . Why is that ? you would think they would have a pre-arranged agreement with hospital, but no nothing, so then they offered to do the tests themselfs in their clinic .....
its a long story . we flew there on stand by and after that night being shuffled around i asked my daughter to see if she could move up the departure date and she did .so we got out of kansas . i felt quite the fool flying over there and leaving without doing what i went there for . but thats how it went .
Egypt itself was ok . You could walk down the street and find decent places to eat . crazy diver's though , constantly on the horn .zig zagging around .
later i went to india by myself. good god the city is a mess ......BUT they would pick me up at the hotel and brought me to the clinic for the required tests and boom one after another .it was done in a hour or so . and the same for the operation. pick up and drop off .
and no arguing over what type of implant . the doctor did convince me to switch from rigi10 to the tactra though .so there's that .
thats another story i have mentioned on this site .
