Here's a Good Question...

Postby fucked0ne » Fri Oct 11, 2024 4:59 am

Hi:

Many of us here are currently on our first implant. Every day I think about the possibility of malfunctions and whatnot.

So...

In the event something terminal happens, what is the protocol one should undertake in between that moment and the date of revision?

I feel this is a good question worth asking, as it's important to be prepared and not scrambling like a headless chicken when the inevitable happens.

Thanks to all those who can pass along their experience and wisdom!

With any question regarding my implant I would consult with my urologist. In fact, I did recently (nine months post-op) because I needed assurance that my device and it's "tubes" are placed correctly and not shifted because I felt the connection tubes to the reservoir when deflated.

I think general consensus is use a VED a couple times a day. I worried a lot the first year but after 2-1/2 now i dont worry so much. When it does happen I’ll schedule an appointment ASAP with Clavell in Houston and get scheduled for a revision as soon as possible and start whatever he suggest doing. A week or two won’t make a difference and the cylinders actually keep you partially stretched ( shower not a grower) also the surgical capsule has long since formed. I realized it’s just not worth worrying about.

The common advice is what I'd do. Report to my dr. Ask his advice. Follow it.

When the bird hits the fan, I'll be cranking the VED for 10 minutes, twice a day, right up until the revision day—of course, all under medical guidance and with a daily dose of Tadalafil.
